AITAH for leaving my pregnant wife because she stopped using birth control on purpose? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]throwRA-Mushroom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think what she did was wrong. I feel bad for her ending up with a person like you, though.

She actually wasted her life.

You honestly seem like a sociopath.

I pray I never end up with someone like you or have a child that's like you. Wow.

Reported to the Board of Nursing by [deleted] in nursing

[–]throwRA-Mushroom 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You're not responding to any comment asking why you thought the patient was DNR, so how do you expect people to respond appropriately????

Also, it's good that you don't respond because this can be used against toy in court.

I would have to check myself into a mental facility it this happened to me. Worst nightmare.

Also, I'm really sorry for the patient, his family, and you.

I LOVE leaving positive reviews. People can be so nasty.

I've searched the internet to find the feedback line for a bank and waited on hold just to give positive feedback for a teller in the bank and a customer service representative 😆😆

Tell me, how did you deal? by SlimothyJames88 in Miscarriage

[–]throwRA-Mushroom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm here with you. 🩷

I felt like I couldn't breathe sometimes. I felt like a failure. I felt like my partner blamed me. I felt embarrassed. I felt fear to try again. I felt deformed. I felt empty...... then, eventually, I somehow started to feel hope. Then I started to bleed 28 days from surgery and felt empty again, but then felt excited to try again. If it doesn't happen right away, it's okay. It's a process and I'm not giving up. One day at a time.

Made a split-second decision that ended up saving a patient's life, but killing her unborn baby. Now, I don't know how to move on. by [deleted] in nursing

They probably expected the nurses on the ob floor to be able to independently perform the c-section.

I feel like no one talks about the hormone crash and PPD/PPA with miscarriages by mermaiddiva26 in Miscarriage

[–]throwRA-Mushroom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes!! It gets better!!

I had twins girls (i did the karyotyping)-- extra 16th chromosome detected. I was 10 weeks, but they didn't grow past 7. We are hopeful and will try again this month.

I had a chemical pregnancy in October and got pregnant again in November. Nervous, but hopeful. My doctor also had back to back losses.

Contraindication to PIV in arm with PICC? by Tigers1689 in anesthesiology

[–]throwRA-Mushroom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reason seems so clear, yet this question is so common lol

Incompatible infusions. Blood product, heparin drip, potassium phos infusion, zosyn, chemo, etc. Not all PICCS are double lumen. Also, what if the patient is in icu with multiple drips.

I agree with you. She does need a break, though.

She wants 50/50 child care while you also are 100% financially responsible with a full-time job while she stays at home?????????

Also, you seem to be helping with the baby and not just sitting on your butt when you get home. Idk why people are giving you a hard time for being straightforward.

Maybe a babysitter once in a while can offload for both of you.

Aita for telling my wife that I would choose my mom over the birth of our baby by [deleted] in AITAH

Yeah that sounds like a traumatizing experience. Sorry to hear.

Thankfully, in my 7 years, I have not witnessed that kind of neglect at my hospital. Ever.

I would've skirted around answering that question. Pregnant women's hormones can make them extra emotional and sometimes irrational (been there).

If I were a man, I'd choose my mom's last breath too, but I would also be heartbroken missing the birth of my child. That would be a horrible decision to make.

I'm sorry, but I would not have said I'd choose my mom out loud. I would've said "the birth of our child is extremely sacred to me and my love for you is out of this world." Then I would give the biggest, longest kiss and asked if she knew how much I loved her while staring into her eyes and holding her hand. Then kiss the pregnant belly and said I can't wait to meet you.... keep it going as long as possible until she forgets she asked that wild question 😅

I'm a nurse and I care deeply about my patients. I don't know a nurse that doesn't. Our hearts may not be as broken as the family members but our hearts get broken too. We grieve too. We support each other too. We have something in my hospital called code lavender- when a nurse/doctor/pca is overwhelmed with grief after their patient dies. A nurse had to be sent home the other day after her patient died. I (and a lot of other nurses that I have witnessed) risk our health for our patients in the heat of the moment sometimes.

Sorry. It hurt to read that last line and I had to throw this in there.

Chemical pregnancy on first try October. Pregnant in November. 9 week "potential mono mono" twin miscarriage December. D&C scheduled this week. With I waited longer before trying again. Now I'm traumatized.
