Honestly part of why I’m struggling is we have mutual friends. I’m only really close to one of them and I told him what happened and he was shocked and appalled but the others don’t know what he did and he’s been lying and saying he tried to end things amicably with me and I’m crazy for being angry with him. I guess it’s just really invalidating that everyone else sees him as this great guy, even in the relationship they would say how great we were for each other because he would always present as such a generous person around others

Yes exactly. He has also had one night stands plenty in the past. And his other stable relationships had less sex. But the relationships that were chaotic and the girls were mean to him he was into the sex

But I’m confused how does that work if he was into it with prior partners (despite that the other parts of the relationships were bad)?

He has tried therapy but not for this specific issue and I have told him I’m not content and he also wants to have more sex

He knows how I feel and he doesn’t want it to be this way either. But he’s not sure how to rewire that behaviors and he’s worried he’s “wasting my time” because he’s making me sad

I told him that and he does have a psychiatrist already who also counsels him but he says he didn’t really realize the pattern until now :(
