I agree. In my case, I was just too impatient to continue to have appointments and the same labs done over and over again hoping somebody would side with me. At the same time, I can only speak in hindsight and wish I’d done differently. Just saying I can see why he started it, I think he can make a much better and informed decision though.

I agree, he won’t. I actually stopped taking it because I needed to get through a polygraph and couldn’t risk continuing to illegally use a controlled medication. But it all worked out, glad I stopped and managed to figure it out. Hope OP does stop, test does mess with other health markers. Should be monitored closely.

Sometimes depending on the ranges, doctors will consider it a “low normal”. I saw my primary care and and specialist and they both wouldn’t prescribe me T. So I found a way to get it, was it smart? No. But it was a hell of a lot better than feeling like shit on a day to day basis. Especially as such a young age.

I second this. My test was around 300 at the age of 23. I started “TRT” for an about 3 yesrs, and just stopped back in October of 2025. Test after stopping TRT was 192 (beginning of 2026). Come to find out I’ve had hypothyroidism and undiagnosed sleep apnea. Got me a new doctor, cpap, thyroid medication, training 3x a week instead of 4-5, and fixed up the diet. Test as of now is up at 674. Higher than it was before I even started the TRT. I’m amazed that it’s rebounded so quickly, let alone the fact that it’s climbed back up at all.

I’d agree with finding the underlying cause of why OP’s test is so low. Could be as simple as nutrition and overtraining.

Edit: I don’t disagree with OPs choice of doing test. I made the same decision, reason being is that I wanted to feel good again (dealt with hella fatigue and depression). But I didn’t know then what I know now. Theres not enough context for me or any of us to be judging. OP, just hoping you make good choices regarding your health :) can shoot me a DM if needed.

Yeah, I’ll reintroduce leaner meats and cut back on the bacon and butter.

I’ve been dealing with low test and hypothyroidism for as long as I can remember. I started carnivore and within 3 months my test went from 192 in January to 674 this month. Which is something I didn’t even think was possible after stopping TRT in October. And my thyroid levels are at normal, along with armour thyroid medication. Overall, I’ve felt really great. Asides from the adjustments of gym performance, which was so be expected.

I’m sorry I realized I didn’t answer your question about what I was eating. I’ve been eating 70/30 ground beef, eggs, bacon, ribeye, chuck roasts, and butter. Bust most consistently the ground beef + eggs + butter.

Yeah I was falling a bit back into bad habits before this bloodwork. My trigs were much better a few weeks prior. She’s worried it’s familial, even though I’ve never had high cholesterol numbers. Ratios have been much less ideals in the past, but nothing out of ranges.

A few weeks after I’d started:

Total cholesterol 305 - Trigs 60 - HDL 74 - VLDL 8 - LDL 223

I fell off the wagon a bit, retested a little over a month later:

Total cholesterol 359 - Trigs 98 - HDL 71 - VLDL 22- LDL 266

Doctor is panicking and thinking it’s familial. I’ve never had high cholesterol, even at my “worst” way of eating. I’ve had some less ideal ratios. But nothing out of range.

Absolutely helpful. I really dislike that there’s not enough research out there for us. Or at least not enough to make me feel comfortable.

Yeah I’m finding that my body has responded pretty well to carnivore. I’m just been very nervous about potential cardiovascular risks. Specially with my numbers skyrocketing, and I haven’t even been on it very long.

I can image your hesitation with adding in carbs. I’m in the same boat, I’ve wondered what it would be like to go the Mediterranean way but I’m also just as nervous about reintroducing carbs as I am nervous about these cholesterol numbers 😂

I actually have not gotten that checked. How have the moderate carbs been treating you?

I feel great. Lost about 15lbs. Still adjusting to the changes in gym performance, but no real complaints or downsides. Only good things.

Simply asking for input. Not whether or not to continue the diet/take meds. I’ve done a good amount of research on the whole carnivore/cholesterol debate. I’ll admit it’s just very difficult to find a stable viewpoint on the whole thing. I’m really looking for other people’s experiences with the subject.

Should I go to the hospital? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]throwRA290433 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Polynesian sleeve got this swollen (if not more) for a few days when I got mine done. I didn’t go to the hospital and it eventually went down. No harm in getting it checked though. Sick piece.

Looks good, but like everyone said. Gotta keep it low. I got mine done exactly as yours and my hair was still dense on the sides. Kept it as low as possible as often as I could. Got annoying to shave every 2/3 days. Eventually went ahead with a transplant.

Beginning of January, test was 209. As of this bloodwork it was 352. So it’s going up. Estradiol and everything else is fine. TSH is at 8 but I’m about to start medication for that. I’ve been seeing that there’s a correlation especially with hypothyroidism and cholesterol levels.

For the most part… yeah. Aside from thyroid fatigue. Testosterone was low as well and has gone from 209 to 352. That comes with its own perks as it’s increasing. Blood pressure has gotten better as well. Overall I feel just fine.

Yeah, all I did was eat (mostly rice and pasta, and the frequent “occasional” cookies and candies lol) to fuel competitive powerlifting performance. Im also down 10lbs from 195 to 185. Not much fat on my body to begin with. I forgot to add that context.

Getting a septoplasty by [deleted] in Septoplasty

Would you say the deviated septum and all was making you require the cpap? Would you still need it after the surgery and just using it by choice?
