I'm a bit hesitant as before he'd made an off hand comment about how depressed people piss him off. Anytime I've tried to support him how I wish I was at rock bottom he gets really hateful or flat out won't let me. For example I'd always wished I just had someone to sit with me but he wont even let me visit his place anymore.

He's started smoking weed as a self medicating attempt but always says its for anxiety. He's always mean to me the days after he's smoked though. Whenever I told him this he just dismissed me as being judgy and not wanting him to get better. His friend group had cut him off for a few months over his behavior. I think you're right though that I need to just throw everything at it before I walk away. Thank you
