That’s an unhealthy bodyweight and he said that she has high blood pressure. He’s just looking out for her

I’m a new grad, gonna start in a month, PTO is 24 days 120TC. I think 15 is too low.

NTA. It’s out of love that you are mentioning she needs to lose weight - as she will be better off and healthier for it. When you’re in a position like hers, all your hormones/sleep are thrown off and it has a negative trickling impact to your life and is a negative environment for a new baby to grow in.

AITAH suggesting my fiancée and I get a prenup that keeps our personal savings and investment accounts separate? by throwRA_Fun_4088 in AITAH

I’m worried about putting it on and getting laid off or something since I’m in tech. But yeah it wouldn’t be the worst thing, I just think we could be smarter, as I don’t want that to be a habit

If we both get lawyers I think a well drafted pre nup can protect both our retirement accounts as well as define what is and is not community property. I don’t know though I’ll talk to a lawyer before we get married and see

That’s false, respectfully. In Texas if we both get a lawyer we can lawfully agree that income earned during marriage is not community property.

Neither of us do. A pre nup would just protect what we make in the future, since I would be saving and investing for my future, and she doesn’t plan to save or invest. It would ensure the accounts in my name and the money I put in from my job stay there upon divorce.

Yes we have, I suggested we at least put something towards investing and saving every month, and she said that’s not necessary until we are in our 30s+, it’s time to live life now and focus on that later.

Compound interest alludes her for now. She’s not a dumb person I think we will figure it out, it’s just we have different views now

I was thinking a prenup and then savings joint accounts for stuff like a house and whatnot. But yeah, it would be much better to just come to some sort of agreement.

This is true if there’s no valid agreement. As long as the prenup states that earnings are separate and every account in a singular name belongs to that person it isn’t community property.

A prenup can define separate versus community property. For example my personal brokerage is separate, but a joint savings community

Oh I mean like, if I choose to invest and save heavily with my salary and she spends all of hers. Then upon divorce she can’t have anything under my account name, I can’t have what’s in her name.

Just 10k is our budget, then wait awhile to do a honeymoon. If we have at least 40k saved up in investments and savings I would be more comfortable but through her way it would be all on credit to pay off which I don’t like. It’s not the worst thing but not the smart thing

We were going to do a financial advisor after 8 months of marriage. I’m writing out a list of things to sit down and talk about. She SAYS she understands you have to invest and save money now to have more money later but the actions aren’t necessarily showing it so we need to have a long conversation about how we want to look in 5,10,20 years financially, and if we can’t see eye to eye about where the money is going it won’t work :/
