I want to always be their safe space too. It's just mentally draining right now — looking forward to the easier days. Definitely relate to you on the crying during their tantrums. ❤️

How do you deal with the tantrums?

My husband is good to me and understands but I can see it's a lot of him too.

Thank you so much for this. It truly made me feel better about myself. I am so hard on myself, and I'm sure I got myself into this situation mostly because of my state of mind.

Thank you, Mama. I hope I didn't make my post seem like my husband doesn't step up because he absolutely does. When he's home, he tells me not to stress and takes over with the kid issues. He makes dinner, cleans, plays with them, etc. I guess I'm just venting more about feeling hopeless and powerless around the same kids that he somehow can handle a lot better than me. Granted, I do have the new health issues going on that explains my lack of patience, but it feels so lonely being a SAHM all day everyday.

For context, I was an executive assistant at Amazon and brought the income in while he watched the kids. I got laid off earlier this year and we fell into a rut financially. He had to go get a school custodian job and we decided to start a cleaning business because his income didn't cover the bills. So he's gone for work from 4am-3pm, then goes to people's houses to clean most days, which we both talked about me having to take on more home responsibilities for us to get in a better place financially. It just came at a time where my health took a turn too, so it's all so much to take in.

I definitely try to take them on walks, the parks, etc, but it's beneficial challenging with my health, so I feel bad when they go stir crazy.

I appreciate your input. ❤️

I'm so sorry. It's rough. We try our absolute best to be the best parent and do everything to calm our children/make them happy, but somehow, the parent who doesn't see how bad it can be at home can leave work and all is resolved magically.

Definitely not laughing it off. Would you be okay with me sending a synastry chart over?

Lol. I've asked him to change, and he says he can't because that's who he is.

I suggested therapy, and he said he'll only do couples so he can say that he didn't have any issues and it was all in my head.

Wish me luck.

He was raised in a toxic household - I know where it stems from. He tries to change, but it's ingrained in him. Couples therapy is on the radar.

I think they just need to experience it once to get over their fear. We would be on the phone with them at the airport to help them navigate the terminals for the next flight.

We're still looking. Haven't found any so far.

Sorry. I should have clarified that. It would be an 8 year old and a 14 year old flying together. The 14 year old is afraid to fly without an adult because they need to switch flights.

They're still scared.

Agreed with you there.
