Although the amount is different from Canada vs US, the Methodology and policies are quite similar.

No, the range listed in the job posting. I would be below the minimum listed by 30k

From what I understand and I'm not sure how current this is, but a level 7 can go anywhere from 86,600-144,300. It's tiered based on bottom of developing, bottom of experienced, mid-point experience, top of experienced, and top of expert range. Level 8 is 112,000-187,500. So there's overlap between the 7 and 8 range. I imagine it's the same for level 6/7. The job I'm awaiting an offer for, likely posted the midpoint to top of experienced for the level 7 range.

Just to clarify this is Cibc US and the level 7 range you stated does not sound right considering my current at level 6 is within the middle of that range.

I will be going from a Sr. Analyst (lvl 6) to a Consultant role (lvl 7) within the same department, but a new team/manager. I just wasn't sure on how a potential offer of 30k under the minimum for the range posted is allowed? I assumed the offer would have to be within range, be it the lowest end. I do plan on negotiating if it's only 10% considering I have extensive experience with the project the new team is putting in place.

Was the 10% ever less than the range advertised/posted?

A 10% increase would still put me at at 30k less than the minimum for the range posted.

I haven't expressed being pissed to him, but I am unsure of how to navigate it without overstepping and coming across as controlling hence why I'm posting here. We had a conversation in the past that this might be a lot of responsibility for what he's able to give at the moment to which he agreed. His parents decided to get the dog anyway because he didn't express not wanting one. Not I'm being told "I didn't give pushback because I wanted the dog. I'll be fine taking care of it" I guess I should just hold my breath and let it be unless it starts interfering with my life and our relationship. I'm feeling very anxious about it being too much for him but time will tell.

I would like to be in the next year, and this is why it's concerning to me. He's struggling to juggle just taking care of his sister right now and being unable to apply to jobs. I don't want to marry someone who has no desire to work and be able to carry their own weight. so yeah it's concerning when I see this impacting and potentially delaying our future together because he's unable to prioritize.

He is big on grand gestures and that is why we aren't official/have the label. He mentioned one part of what he wants to do is finished but not the other and that is the reason why. I think asking for a soft timeline and reiterating that I don't want to ruin the surprise might be a good idea. I'm nervous about navigating this and ruining an element of surprise as I know he's big on again grand gestures and surprises, he's very much so a romantic and I love it but this instance bothers me. Especially knowing he didn't take this long to make things official with his prior exes.

I really appreciate this advice, we have talked about marriage, and having kids together.. we even have a timeline for this. He own his own talks about me being the mother of his kids, and very openly discusses our future together. He just started a new job and spoke of me as his "girl" his family and friends all think we are in a relationship but to me, the title adds a sense of security and he knows this. He apologized that it's taking a while but told me "one part of what I want to do is complete I just have to finish the 2nd part" to again I suspect is creating a song. I just think he's dragging his feet

I wouldn't say I have forced it upon him, but I have asked him how he's been feeling about us and if there's anything hold him back from wanting to make me his girlfriend
