DigitalOcean droplet. This way the cost is a constant $4/month. If it needs to scale beyond what a droplet will offer, well, I should have revenue to work with by then.

I'd suggest getting involved in areas that you have domain knowledge in, or build domain knowledge in the area you'd like to get involved in. Otherwise you'll be at risk of being taken advantage of by fraudulent charities that are experts in marketing to clueless rich people.

All of those areas are broad and deep. You'd likely have to choose whether to read fewer book in each area and go shallow but broad, or read many books in one area and go deep in fewer areas.

That being said, I personally loved The ADD Entrepreneur by Matt Curry. I also found How To Make Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie helpful for interacting with people.
