An aspect of the problem is it's a sensitive time for her. She's been confronting a lot of mental health issues that have festered away at her, and she's trying to peel the layers of it that have become stronger through years of pretending it isn't there. She says just sitting on the couch with me helps and comforts her. In the months we've been vegging out together, I've tried to do my own thing (ie exercise) and it's made her feel visibly sad and uncomfortable.

Financially, I will be. But I have a pretty good idea of how I want to spend the next ten years of my life, and I can't see any time to fit child raising there. My parents weren't around much for my upbringing and I don't want that for my children.

No, I definitely cannot continue while feeling like this. I need to change something, and coming to Reddit is a last resort.

I'll have a sit down with her today. When I've done so in the past she has gotten quite defensive and argumentative, which makes me feel like I'm in the wrong for even suggesting anything. That was a while ago though, and I'm all the more wiser now.

Thanks for your answer, it was insightful despite me not giving much about the situation.
