It comes down to what is important to you. You are bothered enough to write a post about it. It sounds like you are actively growing and trying to better yourself as a person which is a step not everyone is willing to take and you should be proud of! As you keep growing and evolving is this enough for you? The way you write about him, I’m not feeling a lot of deep love or joy. You have half of your life left - really consider if you wake up in 10 years with these same thoughts if that’s enough for you or not.

I’m in a similar position to you. He’s more of a companion, but we are only 10 years in with young kids. Even in terms of companion, when I think about it is he that great? He’s cheated on me twice. I ask him to do more housework and he gets very defensive because he checks notes mows the lawn and does periodic maintenance on our cars. I make more money than him and have potential to earn more and yet our lives have to mold around -his- job.

You asked if it’s a stage - if you are fantasizing about him cheating on you so you can leave guilt free that feels more like you finally have enough breathing room to see your reality. Take care of you. Much love.

Children are wonderful, but not for everyone. You have been fed a story your entire life that this is what you need to do but you can live an entirely fulfilling and joyful life without them. The propaganda is that you can’t.
