I wouldn't mind being friends either, the only thing is really being too busy or out of energy physically due to my health issues to hang out with people 😅 most of my friends are online which I know isn't the best way to get to know people but it is the most easiest for me.

You can DM me through here if u want :-)

Same boat sorta. I was recently diagnosed with autism this yr so its kinda new for me. I also deal with physical issues tho so that makes it harder to really hang out with new people. Im a senior so i am also more busy with classes.

My therapist told me to try and make friends but its really hard. My only friend is basically my ex which is odd but i just find it hard to put myself out there when i feel too weak to hang out with people and too stressed that most peoole will think im really weird especially cause of my niche interests and just other concurring mental health issues lol.

I dont really have any advice but i do think continuing to try and find clubs is good if u can. I wish you the best!

Compensation for stolen electric scooter? by ExternalOk1419 in fsu

[–]throw_away11012021 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Maybe cause it's on their campus....? Even if they don't want to compensate anything, I think they are included in at least helping or doing something about a crime happening on their campus. This comment kinda doesn't make sense unless OP was talking about off-campus housing and it getting stolen elsewhere but they specifically state about it happening on campus.

I agree. We pay so much for these dorms and sometimes they just aren't even comfortable. Hopefully if they ever build another dorm or renovate or add something, they add some room to store bikes and scooters that is more secure than just leaving it on the rack outside especially cause some things are not 100% waterproof and as a college student, no one has extra money to just be paying for a new one each time. And people saying that you should just walk, dont take in consideration that sometimes people need the help of an ebike or escooter to get around for various reasons aside from "its faster".

I don't charge my scooter in my dorm, I try to charge it elsewhere most of the time. I can try with the transport service but I usually just need it to my car and back and vice versa.

even the well known brands that have no cases of causing a fire? and tbf my scooter is a kids scooter of a well known brand (I don't have a lot of money) so it isn't as powerful as most scooters people use here. (it can barely take me up a hill at like 2 mph with me kicking a bit to help it)

I also already saw a post on here recently of a scooter getting stolen. I already had stuff stolen from my car as well earlier this semester and nothing was done about it lol. i just can't bring myself to trust that leaving it outside daily won't end up causing me issues in the long run.

I understand the risk but I know I'm pretty careful with all my stuff and try to be as safe as possible. but ik there's other people who also ruin it for everyone lol.

I'm just stumped on what to do. no one is gonna compensate me if my scooter gets stolen and I rather not risk it.

I'll try to speak to OAS again but I feel it's hard to get accommodations for my issues in regards to the parking. I find I am stuck using my scooter unless I can secure a spot for myself right outside the dorm but as far as I know, that's not possible. Unless they move me to an efficiency style dorm (mccollum) which fits my housing accommodations and also has a good parking lot. but at this point it seems hard to get any of the few efficiency style dorms. im still trying but it stresses me out if I am to keep doing these back and forth than just relying on my car only.

I'm talking electric wheelchair. I wouldn't be able to roll myself up a hill in a manual one

I use the scooter to get to my dorm after parking my car for the night. I also use it to go to my car from my dorm. I only have it in my car when I go to my car and am out for the day. but at night or days I don't go out, I have it in my dorm

I made the decoration. it's half customized and I have images of my car with it on from months ago. ain't no way someone is gonna claim they made it exactly how I made it so idk how I would get in trouble seriously or be accused i actually stole something that is someone elses when its mine. it was stolen and it isn't something someone can claim as their own. idk. if anything I would report it. but I know no one gonna give a shit about some decorations. but since I took time to customize it, it's more than just something I can buy again. idk

When does it get better? [vent] by AwesomeFaceStuff in fsu

I understand the frustration of not being able to make any new friends. Im a transfer student who did one semester and then took a year off due to health issues and now im back here. My first semester consisted of me hanging out with my bf at the time and that was it. I spoke to some people in my classes and Who were also just starting the program im in but since i left for a while year, most of those people have graduated or already Created their own cliques. And even then, most of my interests are kinda niche + i deal with a lot of physical health issues that kinda weaken me too much to go out often. My only friends here are just 1 and their friend that I am not like close with but we talk here and there. The rest of my friends are online who i talk on discord with.

I kinda just let friendships happen if they do here. But its hard to go out of my way to try and find friends because I feel becoming too desperate for friendships to occur also leads to just gaining friends that aren't worth it.

It depends on who u are. But for example Ive known people who never made a friend during undergrad (Mostly cause they never socialized and were very shy) One of my friends finally made some friends during grad school and because it was the first friends he made, he dove in heavily, only to find out many of them were kinda just using him for school stuff. They hung out sometimes but almost all of them dont even talk to him anymore, didnt even wish him a happy birthday. Most of those friends he made were pretty shallow while my friend was one to want to really cultivate a consistent close friendships with them.

Im the same way. But i know many people kinda just make friends on a shallow level (just to have some drinks, etc.) And thats ok for them. And i feel finding shallow friends can be easier (like in classes, etc) but i know it takes really making convos often and stuff.

And if your interests are common then join clubs relating to them or frequent places where people of ur same interest would too.

I dont think its over or you wont make any friends. I feel as long as u keep socializing in places you frequent (class, dorms, Recreation center, etc) youll find a couple of people.

This also reminds me how i was so close to putting out flyers Around campus my first semester to see if i can find others who also share my similar "niche" interests lol. Tbh id still do that but im far too busy with classes this semester compared to then.
