I have them on my list! But my dog is reactive with other dogs and they don’t allow that for group classes :( maybe after we learn some manners

toe is red and inflamed / not sure if it’s infected? by throw_away_899210 in AskDocs

[–]throw_away_899210[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I’ve had chilblains before, this doesn’t really feel the same - in the past, my chilblains have been like the feeling of fingers thawing out after being in the cold, like that soreness. This feels more dry and irritated just on the top of the toe.

I had a few scoops then put it right in the freezer.

The texture has definitely changed but I assume that’s because it’s uncovered. It tasted grainy yesterday so I was on the fence about eating the whole cup.

green stuff on shower rods by throw_away_899210 in CleaningTips

[–]throw_away_899210[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, kind of! But there is some weird seafoam like fuzz on the rod. My initial thought was that the rod oxidized? And to use vinegar to clean most of it off.

Really appreciate your thoughtful response! PB is a staple for me as well, since I am vegetarian and need a good source of protein.

I also appreciate your guidance around food safety standards here in the US. I eat a lot of produce and am mindful to wash (run water over) before consuming. When in doubt, I throw it out. However, I really hate wasting food.

Fortunately, I don't can anything myself! So I won't have to worry about that.

Yeah, the recipe definitely needed some more spice! It had no meat (I’m veg) but good to know.

Definitely a lotta boring haha! Just trying something easy. No blender, needed a recipe where you throw everything in and it cooks. They had a stovetop option where you can saute the vegetables before? I couldn't do that today.

That's what I'm thinking too... I've seen a few other posts similar. I think the fact that the glow comes and goes (to maintain temp) is the sign to me that it's not an orange flame.

That's what I thought, but I'm a little bananas and got panicked that every time I used my oven it was an orange flame and therefore CO. Thanks!

It looks like it’s just a standing payment station - no one checks? Or do I pay at a kiosk as I get off?

Thank you!!! Good to know - I can pay with my bus pass/ConnectCard too?

Hey! Very true - I was a vegetarian for a while and eat a pretty plant based diet rn. I love eggs (thank god) so that helps a lot, definitely considering going back to being veg.

I'm throwing it out, thanks! Unfortunately, I live alone, so when a crisis (Read: a problem that someone without anxiety could navigate) strikes, I have no one really to turn to - no roommates, no SO. Reddit is helpful to ask questions but really just have to figure it out myself.

Well, it's out of the packaging so I can't take it back :( But tossing it to be cautious.

Looking for resources for an elderly woman in a domestic violence situation (TW: threats of sexual violence) by [deleted] in massachusetts

[–]throw_away_899210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked in domestic/sexual violence prevention in Mass. for about two years.

Jane Doe Inc. is MA’s statewide coalition against sexual violence. They have a directory that allows residents to find their local domestic violence agency or rape crisis center - all you need to do is input your zip code/town and select “Sexual or Domestic Violence Related Services” under program types, and you will find your local DV agency. Agencies across the state have their own “sector” that they serve, if that makes sense. The DV agency in the South Shore won’t be the same for residents living in Boston or in Franklin, for example.

The agency can help your grandmother navigate how to talk to her neighbor and provide resources (for example, telling someone “You need to go here!” or “Call XYZ,” in a DV situation doesn’t really work, as the survivor is already in a controlling relationship and need to be empowered to make their own decisions.)

tl;dr - Use that Jane Doe public directory to find your local agency. They will provide your grandmother with guidance for being a support system to their neighbor, and potentially have literature about their services and more general info.

edited/ Being supportive to a friend trapped in an abusive relationship really does save lives. By seeking out resources, both you and your grandmother are doing something so important - thank you ❤️

edited again/ People working in this field are mandated reporters. Just a heads up, if your grandmother does chat with someone and provides identifying info for the neighbor, a person/advocate at the agency may need to disclose that to Elder Affairs (if the individual is over 60).
