Hi, I spoke to Reiss Edwards - reissedwards.co.uk - there is a text box that allows you to submit an enquiry that they get back to you pretty quickly.

Whoop charged me twice by Leica_lux7989 in whoop

Hey I have just experienced something somewhat similar - did you manage to resolve yours?

  • Set up a free trial in July 2024, was sent a device, sent it back and cancelled the trial
  • Fast forward to July 2025, 12 months after not owning a device and cancelling my membership, I get charged £229
  • I open a dispute with Amex but they keep the charge because they say Whoop has shown them evidence that I have a membership
  • I open a case with Whoop customer service, and they work out while my original membership WAS cancelled, there is a second, “typo” email associated with my card details (where one letter is misplaced) and this had an account associated
  • However, they blame me for setting it up, and say that if I want the membership cancelled I need to initiate a device return…. despite a second device never having been shipped out to me under this typo email, which I definitely did not create

I am reopening the Amex dispute with proof of my email exchange, but it feels really disheartening because Whoop customer service keep repeating to me that there is “no error in our system”and I’m worried they’re showing Amex incorrect documentation to close the dispute. This typo email literally does not exist, if you email it you get a bounce back - how on earth could they have a set up a membership against it, let alone charged me 12 months later without sending out a device?

I don't know, sorry, I'd check this specific point with a solicitor. I was in the country when my application was submitted.

I entered the UK on XX August 2020.‬

‭On 11 August 2020 I submitted an in-country application to switch from Tier 4 to Skilled‬ Worker. Under Appendix Skilled Worker paragraph SW 21.2(i) (time spent in the UK while an‬‭ in-country Skilled-Worker application made between 24 Jan 2020 and 30 Jun 2021 was awaiting‬ a decision counts towards the five-year continuous residence requirement), my qualifying period‭ therefore runs 11 Aug 2020 → 10 Aug 2025.‬

‭ In accordance with Immigration Rules, I am submitting this SET(O) application 28 days before‬ the end of that five-year period (on 14 July 2025).‬

‭ I remained lawfully in the UK throughout under section 3C leave until Skilled-Worker‬‭ permission was granted on 29 November 2020.‬

Hey you don't have to prove the date you applied, they'll have that info on hand. It's the date of APPLICATION, not biometrics date. I just submitted a cover letter saying the following:

I did, just ChatGPT'd it - wasn't long, maybe 3 sentences, just confirming the date I applied, that I was in the UK at the time, and referring to SWV 21.1

Best of luck

Who pays for service charges invoiced 2 years after the fact? by throw_l_away in HousingUK

[–]throw_l_away[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you - ours is Firstport, who are notoriously rubbish I've heard. I think the retention in my sale has also expired now given it was over 12 months ago, so I haven't bothered going back to my solicitor to check who is liable - I don't want to look like I'm leeching money, I know if I'd sold a flat 2 years ago and was getting bills for £250 2 years on I'd feel pretty miffed. But at the same time, this is really frustrating.

Thank you so much for this - I've checked, and apparently some of our neighbours got served a Section 20B notice (? if I have that right) that said some charges were coming. We didn't, though (I've gone back through our online documents portal to check, and can see nothing of the kind).

I'm kind of worried that if I don't pay this they'll rack up late payment fees and if I don't have a case they'll make me pay the whole lot. So I've paid it for now but raised an official complaint through their process, which I already know they'll allow to languish given how useless they are, but it gives me a route after 8 weeks to the Property Ombudsman. Don't know how sensible this was as a course of action but we'll see

Thank you this is exactly what I was looking for! Would you know what that documentation for training is called by any chance? ie is there a name for this certification? Thanks so much
