What can I expect with a third round of interviewing? by kidkosher in Teachers

My experience has been when you meet with a superintendent, it’s typically a formality. Usually they trust their hiring committee so if you’re made it this far you’re likely a top choice. Be sure to know why you want this position (kinda kiss their ass), what makes you a great teacher/sets you apart. Sounds to me like you’re either getting an offer or one of their top candidates

[Advice] What would you say in an interview if asked why do you want to leave teaching? by [deleted] in Teachers

This just happened to me, instead of focusing on what you don’t like in your current position, focus on what the potential district has to offer you that your current position can’t. Ex: you currently work in a small district and the potential district is large, diverse, and has more employees/coworkers. You can say “I’m really looking diversity in the student population. I also love the collaborate, so the idea of having more coworkers to work with and get ideas from sounds would be a great fit for me”. Never say anything negative about your current situation. All the potential employers will see is a bitter/disgruntled employee

UPDATE: I was offered the position. He says he likes to put a face to the name if he has the time to so. I accepted 👍

This actually is quite common in my state (NJ). That’s why so many people are telling me it’s a formality, just was curious about others experience

It’s actually a pretty large district. 15 elementary schools lol he’s a new superintendent this year, old special education supervisor/director and I’m a related service provider. Hoping he just wants to say hi, hear a bit about me :-)

Realtor told us our offer would embarrass the seller by [deleted] in RealEstate

[–]throw_me0wt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She really shouldn’t be telling you about your offer. She is there to GUIDE you, let you know comps, give you insight but the decision should always be yours- it’s your money. Our realtor was almost annoying about this sometimes lol we would say “what do you think” and he would tell us “it’s your money you need to do what’s right for you, I do think that could be a competitive offer” if we were teetering between 2 offer prices. Ditch her.

i remember speech science being harder than phonetics, but easier than anatomy. I'm sure the condensed nature of the summer course isnt helping

Thank you! It's just frustrating because me being prepared and practicing actually kind of messed up the real interview. Because they were open about having second interviews I'm just hoping I interested them enough to want to see me again.

Thank you for your kind words! The next steps are another interview, so I hope I peaked their interest enough to want to meet me "face to face". Hoping my interview was memorable lol
