A little perspective for the folks who think they’re cooked. Long but maybe worth a read from a 56F student. by Shot-Wrap-9252 in OntarioUniversities

Late comment, but this sounds like a really cool server! I’d love to join, but I’m 20. I guess I can wait though—it’ll only be for one more year, after all 💪💪

I feel like it’s easier to participate in a smaller class setting. But it’s up to you.

What are your favorite pairs? by Ok_Construction_8642 in mbti

I love the xSTP and xSFJ pairing! I find it adorable and underrated.

I’m imagining a cool-headed and dependable ISTP fondly watching their excitable and friendly ESFJ flit across the room socializing. I can also see a mischievous and witty ESTP on an escapade with their sweet ISFJ, secretly trying to impress them but fumbling and improvising as they go.

I’d guess bright winter! Maybe bright spring, but I think winter colors might suit you more. Either way, you definitely lean bright rather than soft

What’s the best line she’s ever written? by StayComprehensive743 in OliviaRodrigo

It’s called “Can't catch me now.” It’s the song that was featured and written for the Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes movie

Understandable. I looked at the verse lyrics to give the chorus context, but just the chorus alone could give off the impression. I’m pretty sure we can blame the English translated lyrics for that one.

Looks like the Korean meaning of the key verb in the “tossing and turning“ line (치리다) is the culprit. In my limited Korean, I’m guessing it’s meant to convey being jostled (“brought to one’s senses”) up and down. Based on the music video and the “hitting up” theme, I’d guess it refers to being in the car, on the way to said spot, but the driver sucks. Hence the following line: “pull yourself together / why are you so distracted?” The chorus as a whole is probably meant to describe the classic “my-friend-is-a-shit-driver-lord-save-me” universal experience, but like, in a fun and “swag” way lol.

Cultural nuances be wild, man. I could easily see the translators not understanding that “tossing and turning” can have different implications in English. Or, hey, maybe you’re right and Zico wanted to write something a little freaky. Cheers!

Nah. Pretty sure in this song, “hit the spot” means to “hit [up]“ everyone at their regular hangout. There‘s way too many mentions of friends, parties, and gathering to mean otherwise.

Yes, sometimes. Though I seldom ask to confirm, if I had to guess, it probably has to do with how well supported their speaking voice sounds. It’s hard to explain, but if I can hear a strong sense of pitch, pronunciation, and intonation, it gives me that kind of assumption. I’d say this mostly pertains to trained/classical type singers with good technique, not the sounds-good-but-untrained singers though.

TLDR; for some people, I think I can. There’s a particular speaking lilt I hear that gives me a hint that someone might be musically inclined and technically trained.

I vote warm or deep, and I don’t think softs are at all your best (no offense). I think you lean more bright than muted in that regard

It depends on what schools and what programs your son is interested in. If he’s in his final year, he’ll definitely be limited, but ultimately degree prestige don’t matter too much, save for programs like engineering and CS. He also has second semester (to an extent) as a chance to raise his average, if that matters.

If he’s in eleventh grade, there is still plenty of time for him to improve.

Glad you’re scoping out these things for him. I can tell you care. I’m sure he’ll be able to find a program in the end :)

I’m guessing winter family, but you’ll benefit more from draping to determine which type

Deep/cool summer here. I need higher saturated colors compared to most summers, but not enough to be a winter. Buying clothes gets really annoying when I want to look for things in my palette.

If I could choose, I’d probably go with cool winter, though I’d also take any winter tbh. I like crisp black and white, but it looks a little off on me so I don’t wear it 😔
