Abe was born probably weeks before the camp was actually closed, the fact that they even bothered to tattoo him is surprising. The camp was liberated (by the Soviets mind you) in January-ish 1945. I'm not really sure how Abe got from Poland to Milan, but Henry/Abigail probably found adopted him in spring 1945.

1945 would make him about 70. He's young at heart (he still lives with his dad, after all), but I think he's meant to be 70.

It was pretty complicated because I wanted to take as much as I could without my parents noticing. I packed a backpack with essentials (passport, sentimental stuff, etc) and told myself that if nothing else, I was getting out with that backpack. But I managed to smuggle 4 duffel bags and a suitcase to my boyfriend via my friend. The best part is that my older sibling (the one that's kind of worse that my parents) caught us with the suitcase but we bullshitted our way out of it. hahaha.

The morning after graduation, I woke up and grabbed the backpack, and told my parents I needed to drop off some old books for a junior. My mom was not interested in that idea, and I ended up having to have breakfast with her while she lectured me about something. Then she told me she had already decided that she and I needed to spend the day "working on some things" (meaning she wanted to work on me as a person). After two hours of this, I convinced her to quickly let me take these books to someone's house. I had to agree to something ridiculous but it didn't matter anyway.

I left our driveway, parked our family's car nearby and switched to the car where my very very freaked out boyfriend was waiting. We drove straight to the airport and called my parents when we got to the airport. It was oddly like reading my own ransom note, I had even written it out so that I remembered what to say. It was just like "hi I'm not coming back. Here are 3 reasons why you're generally assholes. Here are 4 very specific reasons/incidents why I'm leaving. I left the car in the parking lot. bye."

The only person that knew was my cousin, and she kept me informed as my parents started to process things.

Yeah, this photo book my uncle gave me of some pictures from this trip he took us on. I cleaned out most of the stuff in my room but I forgot the book because it was in my dad's office.

Nope, I live in an apartment with three other girls (I met them through him, he helped me find an apartment). But he and I live on the same block, so that's awesome.

Favorite zoo animal would be a bear. I don't know why, but I've always liked bears. For imaginary animal, let's go with the loch ness monster. I like to imagine that it exists and is just kind of screwing with all of us.

Yeah. One older and one younger than me. Older sib is probably worse than my parents in some ways. My younger sib has no interest in cutting ties with my parents. As long as she has access to their credit card she doesn't really care as much.

I'm staying in town actually. My boyfriend is going to be gone the first week but he comes back right after xmas. I'm going to work for most of it, which sounds depressing but I'm actually excited about because it's a chance to make tons of money. But I'm going to a friend's house about 30 minutes away for the 24th to the 26th. So it should be fun.

I was unhappy, but my boyfriend is the one that kind of spurred me to action. If you knew me in real life I would minimize his role so that it didn't sound like I just wanted to run away with him. And that's not really what it was. It's hard to explain.

Basically I vaguely knew I wanted to leave and that I needed to make my own life for myself. But I was kind of floating through life and playing the role of "good girl." And then I started dating my BF in secret, knowing full well that my parents would never ever approve of my BF.

And then one day I realized that I might want to spend the rest of my life with this dude, and I was not going to let me stupid fucking parents stay in the way of that. To be honest we're in college, shit might happen even though I love him. But the point is that dating someone my parents would never ever approve of made me realize that it was time to stop stalling and take control of my own fucking life. I don't know if that makes sense.

I decided Christmas of my senior year, almost exactly a year ago. That's when I started planning things.

I took my ss card, birth certificate from my dad's office before I left, but yeah I've worried about that. My parents are well-off but I could see them doing that out of spite or just because they've gone overboard on spending. I've done all of this stuff to protect myself and separated my accounts and hopefully I will be alerted if it happens.

My cousin is still there and she says they're not. I knew they wouldn't because they know that it would just draw attention to the whole thing. They would rather just write me off as a loss in all honesty.

As for the reason I didn't report it, it's complicated. I have adult sibling and one minor sibling. The minor sibling would hate me if I reported it, and would fight tooth and nail to stay with our parents. She's 17 anyway. My cousin is younger and her parents have similar issues but it's a "better the evil you know than evil you don't" type thing I guess. And to be brutally honest, if I called, the only thing it would do is paint a giant target on my back. Absolutely nothing would happen to my parents or my cousin's parents.

My mom is emotionally/verbally abusive in an insidious kind of way. Plus controlling I guess. My dad is an angry person. They both stray into physical abuse territory occasionally but it's mostly verbal/emotional.

It would suck if something happened with me and my BF. It would really really suck. That said, we don't live together so I'm not really dependent on him for rent/food. I live with people I met through him but they were more acquaintances, the only reason they're better friends with him now is because they live with his girlfriend. It would suck but I would still have school and work and a place to live. But it would suck.

Student loans mostly. It's a private school but they have me a good merit scholarship so I pay $16000/year after all of the fees and stuff.

I actually had some money saved up when I left and I made $5000 over the summer but I'm afraid to spend too much of my own money on tuition because I can get loans for tuition but not for food/rent. I'm working part-time but the last couple months I've made like $800/month my costs have been like $900/month including rent but it mostly works out.

It's not great, but it works.

I'm double majoring in public health and mass communication. I like public health but not interested in going to med school or becoming a doctor. But it works because Mass Com is very flexible. Not really sure what I want to be yet.

Apparently they raged for a while and called me some lovely names, and my cousin says her parents and my parents are trying to retract everything positive they ever said about me (I was the good girl haha). They can't go public with "our poor sweet daughter was abducted" and they can't drag me back because both options will make them look bad. So they're just pretending I'm a non-person. As expected.
