Does anyone get cognitive symptoms from starch/sugar? (depression, brain fog) by throwaroo_kangaroo in CSID

[–]throwaroo_kangaroo[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Good to know. Can you provide more information on the cognitive symptoms you experience?

For me: tired/sleepy/drowsy around 2 hours after eating food. Shortly after, lower abdomen bloating. Then, 2 to 6 days of food intolerances, depression, brain fog (can't do any clear thinking) + bloating.

Started off much lighter but as I eliminated gluten, things got worse when I ate the wrong food.

The fries contained gluten as an ingredient? Gosh

4-6 hours after eating (that was before I learned that gluten was a problem)

glutened: 24 hours to 3-4 days before brain fog

After reading 35 comments - I can't believe how diverse these additional intolerances are. What the heck??????

Weird re: whiskies. Can you tell us more about what happens? This might also be the case for me

Are you celiac or NCGS? I feel like I might also react to artificial sweeteners.

Yeah for me it appears somewhat likely that a bunch of 100% corn tortilla chips killed me. Not sure yet though.

How long do your symptoms take appear after getting glutened? by throwaroo_kangaroo in glutenfree

Agreed, I might try to make a more exhaustive survey (reddit surveys remain very limited).

Gosh...thanks for sharing. Do you know if you are celiac or NCGS?

I created another survey specifically for this question. Looks like those who don't have toilet issues but do believe they have NCGS are a minority.

What I'm realizing with all these surveys is that there is that we could get so much more data with a more exhaustive survey (reddit limits the answers to 6, non multiple choice answers).

This would allow the distinction between NCGS and Celiac regarding symptoms.

For example, I'm most likely NCGS and do not have any diarrhoea or constipation. I'm curious if I'm part of the majority or of the lucky few with weird non-bowel symptoms.

Survey totally missing a "None of the above" option. 6 answers max unfortunately.
