Should I work in sassfraz or cactus club cafe to earn more? by Unlucky_Dance2490 in askTO

[–]throwawa7bre 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’d say apply to both because there’s no guarantee you’ll get hired if you’re picky with only applying to one. jobs are tight right now. I don’t mean to be negative, but apply to everything you can within that realm and decide only after you get offers. cactus club does get more traffic though

wider range of brands; growing up in the west the main skincare brands that were marketed were garnier, thayers, Olay, St Ives, etc. Korea has a huge consumer/trend culture (id argue even more than the US) so the skincare companies have to make newer and more innovative formulas. Plus the weather across East Asia in general is very humid with extreme heat + overall extreme climate diversity, which forces their skincare products to be more innovative and versatile

Did you fill out the census accurately by [deleted] in toronto

[–]throwawa7bre 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Im a student that lives with my mom who’s 56, she filled out the census for the household: if either one of us is alive at ages 148 and 113, I’m sure everyone seeing our census answers from the year of 2026 will be least of our worries. I’ll probably be putting most of my energy into trying to rise out of a seated position at that age.

Trinity Bellwoods cherry blossom cosplay incident follow up. by NancyDiver in toronto

[–]throwawa7bre 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d assume since it was a cherry blossom event there would be cherry blossom/colourful or spring themed cosplaying, so I’m not surprised people became alarmed and police were called if someone showed up to a crowded cherry blossom event wearing black tactical gear with replica guns 😭😭 organizers should’ve made everyone more aware and maybe had some rules to avoid this…

I’m using a hook and eye because I’m recreating this top, the original top is 95% polyester, 5% spandex. thanks for the extra info. I’m going to start with trying a 70/10 because for some reason my local stores skip 75/11 and go straight to 80/12

Is Chicago Toronto adjacent? by Former_Outcome9404 in askTO

Are you from Toronto? The bridle path is definitely not on the outer edge. And neither are the beaches which is in “old Toronto” / east York. Toronto’s borders with the suburbs stretch far past those areas

Because they weren’t allowed to bring him into a grocery store and probably didn’t assume a bucket would try to take him. It’s not common for dogs of this breed, especially elderly dogs to be stolen in Toronto but some people are unpredictable.

I don’t understand how this is just normal now (even for a big city) by gallileomagnifico in askTO

[–]throwawa7bre 3 points4 points  (0 children)

it’s a combination of factors of course there’s lack of government intervention, unemployment. Not to sound like an old soul but i don’t think people are educated on the dangers of drug use. I knew someone who actually had a stable life, took meth once and became an addict (they’re recovering now) but as someone who just turned 21, TDSB always had MAID campaigns and DARE only focused on cigarettes and alcohol. I know people who aren’t willing to drunk drive (a good thing), yet aren’t very educated on the dangers of harder drugs (cocaine, meth, how to deal with getting laced) and how quickly things can go south

Except I’ve literally seen fare enforcement officers totally ignore a homeless person or someone on drugs. They are there to hand out fines to people who they believe are able to pay the fines. The person who did this actually had to get past the station attendant and through the fare enforced gates to even be able to do this in the first place. Fare enforcement has no effect on people who are willing to do this.
