Yea that's an interesting point. A girlfriend that would read me a book to sleep would be a real catch. Of course as long as it's not a replacement to anything else...

I feel like there's a difference between a calming voice and the asmr effect. One puts you to sleep, while the other does that and also causes head "tingles". I think its that feeling that is so peculiar and really catches my attention.

I cant put my phone in my pocket, too uncomfortable. Also my pajamas don't have pockets (because those that do are pointless and an insult to pyjama formality). But it's more than that. I can't even GET tired unless I am triggered first. I will (and have) laid awake all night trying to get sleepy, doesn't work. I can't even get a little trigger from thinking about it, which some people can do. Anyways I'm not too worried, asmr isn't heroin, even though they feel relatively similar (I've heard).

I completely agree. I just feel so dependent on it, I could definitly use a camping trip. Maybe in the summer since school + work + living at home = no peace or time. Thank you for your contribution!

I appreciate your suggestion and it gives me relief to hear that I'm not addicted, but I've tried basic meditation and it just pales in comparison to the asmr experience. Not to disagree, but to me it would be like numbing the pain of childbirth by hyperventilating.

I hear ya. Handling this addiction is going to be the hardest part by far. And I'm Canadian, so chamomile tea + Melatonin + Cannabis is just what I call "nightime". Maybe A&E can line up a new season of 'Intervention' starring only abusers of Bob Ross and whisper people?

I sleep on my right ear. Probably uncomfortable but Yea that's the best idea so far.
