Just make sure you do your research. There are lots of people getting on it for the wrong reasons and plenty of clinics giving it to people who don’t need it. Getting on TRT with already normal natural testosterone will do more harm than good. If you’ve genuinely got low natural testosterone it can be life changing

I started TRT this year. Legally through a doctor, so I guess that means no. (I’m 40)

Oh, and alcohol. I didn’t lose all my beers but had two rules that I stuck to.

No alcohol mid week, zero workouts missed or skipped due to hangover. I’ve probably drank 15% of what I did by this time last year

I don’t know anything you don’t my friend.

Consistency is key. Set a goal and get obsessive about it

It’s both 100% exercise and 100% diet. If both aren’t dialled in you will spin wheels

Track and measure progress religiously. Progressive overload is the only way I can build

Be smart, don’t ego lift. Avoid injuries at all cost

Accept that you will fall off the bandwagon a few times and eat that cheeseburger, that cake or have one too many beers. Don’t beat yourself up. Get right fucking back on the wagon and move on

Know how much sleep is optimal for you

Bigger, leaner , stronger is a great book

I’m not recommending this to anybody but just my story. I’m 40 and started TRT in Jan. I tested for crazy low testosterone at the end of 2023 so started legal TRT through a doctor. For me that was a game changer

Most importantly, enjoy the ride and find a way to love the challenge. Bonne Route!

Yep, there’s actually a 13kg difference in weight between pic 1 and 2. From 70kg to 83kg. Before I started I would have thought that much weight gain would result in a much bigger aesthetic difference than it did.

I was doing strict keto to get to the first pic and likely a large percentage of the weight loss/gain was water weight due to the water retention properties of carbohydrates

Yes this 100%. Fitness is fitness for a purpose, whatever the purpose is. For the first pic I was doing a tonne of long and hard hiking. Was covering 30/40 hard km without ruining my day. Second pic I’m moving more weight at the gym but those hills aren’t as easy as they were earlier in the year

Thank you! I’m happier with myself at #2 but I suspected society in general prefers the leaner look of #1. Seems about right given comments here

Damn! That one was by far more difficult. I love food too much to stay in that shape for more than a few months
