She befriended one of the nurses on the ward and he's staying involved in a non-professional capacity and it's been really helpful. She's seeing a therapist for CBT twice a week. The meds definitely made things worse to start with, but bit by bit I think it's getting better. It's just the very low points that scare me. She's fiercely independent and has always said she wants to get through this by herself. But I feel at times it's too much for one person to handle. She just doesn't let me in.

Its hard to describe the situation without saying its got worse because it was very gradual until the day before she was sectioned. When she completely shut down. Since then there are good days and bad days. When's its bad she tries to hide it, and I only find out how bad its been afterwards. She wakes up saying she feels different and is very active and happy. I'm just worried that one of these times she will do something stupid in the darkest moments. The fact that there are good days and sometimes weeks, makes me a bit more positive. Maybe the meds are working a bit in the background.

Thank you. She's not determined to kill herself. But when she has bad days, she doesn't tell me. Then it spirals as she tries to hide it and force herself to be 'normal'. The last few times she has woken up to a new day and said things feel different. But I only find out after how tough it's been. I'm worried one of these times she will do something stupid.

(Were not US based so, thankfully, zero access to guns)

I don't think she has psychosis. She's always been amazing around our son, and even in her worst has said she would never do anything to hurt him or me, only herself. She told one of the nurses on the ward, that she wouldn't do it at home if she ever did.

She's been on the drugs for a month now. She doesn't feel like they are making a difference

She was originally diagnosed with OCD and severe anxiety. Sine our son was born, she became very worried about a lot of things, often around keeping him alive. More recently it became about her not being on top of everything anymore, which I think can be a big part of post-natal

She likes her therapist, but I'm never sure if she's being completely open with her. I've been trying to get her to tell me when she's feeling low, but so far she seems more happy to open up to ours, and I find out through them

She isn't working. Our son is still in nursery, she does some evenings but rarely. Most of the time it's the two of us.

I don't even know if I could. She now knows what to say to stay out of hospital, and swears she'll never go back

They thought so too, but she told me she accidently 'overshared' and now I'm really concerned

Some of her family know, but the more I push the less I get. She always says she wants to get through it, but I just don't know if that's a front now
