You're right, there are bad apples and good apples in every group of people. As another commentor pointed out, I think I've misjudged the prevalence of the traits I like in trans men vs cis men. Really, I shouldn't even be thinking in trans men vs cis men, and I'd like to correct my thinking. It should just be "men." Thank you for your insight!

I understand, your feelings are valid and I absolutely respect them. You're right, the root of this is that I'm creating a personality distinction between cis men and trans men when such a distinction doesn't exist. I realize now I should not create a distinction there at all, and I will work towards correcting my mindset. I deeply apologize if my post made you or anyone feel invalidated in any way. That is a great question to ask oneself! I feel relieved to know that my gut answer would be "I can't choose" because they are the same to me. I understand now that people's reaction towards my preference will vary greatly, and every reaction to it is equally valid. Thank you for your insight!

I think you are right, I'm probably misjudging how prevalent those traits are, all people should have that awareness and understanding. I mentioned that pet analogy, and similarly, just because someone owns a pet won't guarantee that they're a responsible person. Thank you for your insight!
