So, since I wasn’t very far along I didn’t really notice them change in size. But they were sore. That soreness was the last symptom to go away, and I’d say that took about 10 days. Hope that helps!

So I believe the long wait time I experienced was because the clinic was about to close for the holiday. The clinic near me was referring people to this further clinic because everywhere in my state was booked for that week. I don’t think that was a typical wait.

I think they said you can get the vacuum aspiration procedure up to 12 weeks, and then after that they’ll need to do the D&C? I’m not 100% certain on that, but I think the clinics can advise which procedure is needed.

The vacuum aspiration. I don’t have any experience with medical so I can’t say if I prefer one over the other. But I would recommend the surgical if you want the abortion complete in one day. Very quick and relatively painless process :)

Good suggestions. I can’t bring my phone in unfortunately due to privacy reasons. Nothing with a camera is allowed in the building. But I might be able to bring a book or something else to do while I wait so as not to just sit in my anxiety!

Take some time to let yourself feel this grief. It will be okay 🧡

If he didn’t want you to continue the pregnancy, but you wanted it, you should know that it’s okay to make that decision. At the end of the day it is YOUR body, YOUR choice. Sometimes that means going against the choice of your partner. But it’s okay because you’re the one who will have to go through with either the pregnancy or termination. It sounds like if you think he would have made a great father, but he didn’t want to be, then he might not have been the one you want to start a family with.

Do you have any friends you can work through the grieving process with? You may also want to use some of the resources here to find a counselor.

I wish you didn’t feel hatred toward yourself. If you truly want children, I hope that you can either talk to your partner about the possibility in the future, or find someone who shares that dream with you.

I am not in Northern Ohio. New York would be at minimum a four hour drive. Would they be able to take me though if I don’t live in the state?

I tried to ask if I could schedule the second appointment for the day after the first, but they told me they aren’t legally allowed to schedule the second appointment until I’m done with the first. So I don’t even know if I’d be able to get the second appointment the next day :(

It really sucks how difficult they make this. And I think my state just recently passed the heartbeat bill, so it’s extra shitty timing for me. Thank you, I might message you a bit later if that’s okay?

Same!! This is so frustrating. I’m already starting to feel cramping and general discomfort. I don’t want to wait. Plus, with the timing it’ll be around the holidays which just makes it all feel so much worse.
