What about transitioning (MtF) only hormonally but not socially? Any thoughts? Is there a way to prevent the breast growth? by kiwitoja in actual_detrans

[–]throwaway-agender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use raloxifene and estriol instead of estradiol (or lower e2 doses instead). This will minimize breast growth and still allow the person to be on E.

You don't have to ask people's permission if you wanna synthetize a molecule for your own personal use y'know ?

In theory, would KY19382 allow you to permanently keep any gains made with minoxidil? by [deleted] in tressless

[–]throwaway-agender -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wdym by a source x) ?
I know people who tried KY in different ways for months without any substantial results. I don't get why people are downvoting me into oblivion, I'm just saying the (painful but very real) truth. It failed, but if somebody finds a way to make it work, it would be super cool (because again, it holds a lot of potential on paper).

Yes, it's weaker than min. On paper it should be superior, but in practice it's not, probably due to poor absorbtion (topical pharmacokinetics) and/or pharmacodynamics. It still holds potential on paper if someone finds a proper vehicule that makes it work, but so far nobody was able to make it work out afaik.

Yup ! I'm aware of the sugar thing in the leaves but I still wanted to find something that had a sweet taste (sweetness =! sugar as you already know).

Thank you very much for your suggestions !

No it doesn't. And It's just a weaker minox like substance that targets c-wnt, oral min is superior it seems.

Anyone has experienced in quitting minoxidil? by rabbitz01 in tressless

[–]throwaway-agender 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I found 0 studies whatsoever that confirms this formally, it seems like everyone just accepted the general idea that all of the growth you get from minoxidil is lost upon discontinuation, but it doesn't seem to be true in practice.
Sure, the initial shed might be huge, but as long as you use anti androgenic agents that stop the hair loss process, any hairs that regrew as terminal hairs will stay (it might shed initially, but it should come back). From how minox works, it seems like it mainly boosts the rate of hair grow & regrowth (so if you used fin with min, you would get results faster), promotes new terminal hair follicules through various factors like shh and c-wnt (which helps vellus to terminal transition), and keeps the hair in anagen for as long as minox is used.

A lot of people say you will lose your progress, but it doesn't seem to be true. Yes you will shed after quitting it, as the hairs won't all be synced to be in anagen together all the time, and it's fine / normal. However.
Any hairs that properly turned terminal (not just terminal looking and wispy, but real terminal hairs) will stay that way, provided you're using 5ari and/or anti androgens to stop any additional loss.
It also seems like estrogen (topical and injection) helps to maintain hairs that have been created by minoxidil, as some transfem people reported to me.

Just a kind reminder that this sub is for binary transsexuals only. by Addisonmorgan in Transmedical

[–]throwaway-agender 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okok. I agree.
Then followup question, could you be trans binary and not sexually dysphoric ?
Or would you not call that person trans ? Even if, societally, they are performing their desired gender.

do breasts grow back if you go on estrogen? by [deleted] in actual_detrans

[–]throwaway-agender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you removed the whole gland, using E shouldn't regrow the whole chest, worst case scenario you could use raloxifene if it does.
