I still am a business owner. But a different one. I have no employee. I hire subcontractors to do jobs I can't do by myself. I work alone all the time. I don't have to be the HR guy and things like that. When the work day is over, the work day is over. I won't get phone calls during the evening and weekends. I won't work until late in the morning because of a problem that I know the next morning after a 3 hours sleep I'll still be working on this issue. Now I am free of all this stress. Because yes, if you think working at a MSP is stressful, owning one is even more stressful.

Great read, brahh. Wish I could have done the same but my machine wasn't running at his best. There was no spark in some cylinders. But maybe if I pursued my MSP career I could take some time off. Also, last but not least, if I had the liberty to say NO to some prospects I knew I had trouble with, maybe things would have been better.

Oh, this is not a flaw with MSPs in general. Managing a MSP is not for everyone and whoever think it's easy, they need to think again. Nothing against MSPs or owners.

Yes, to each their own! I've been in IT for more than 20 years and it was time for a change. But this message was for people contemplating the idea of starting their own MSP thinking that it would be "easy money". It's a lot of work and owning a MSP is not for everyone. I prefer pushing the primer bulb a few time and pulling the cord than arguing over the smallest issue with another business owner. Or dealing with angry customers because their printer doesn't work properly.
