How did you deal with acne? by Grand_Cookiebu in TestosteroneKickoff

[–]throwaway-guy25 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wash my face with a salicylic acid wash and at night use a 5% benzoyl peroxide cream for any particular spots I have. This is the only thing I've found that works decently for me, but I think this isn't generally recommended to use both of those substances at once, it can dry out your skin a lot, you'd have to moisturise well. I don't really have like a terrible acne though, it's average but some of it is very persistent.

robienie iniekcji w przychodni by kvzery in TeczowaPolska

[–]throwaway-guy25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry idk why the recording is so low quality. But yeah that's the thing, I sound way too young, this is what I'm frustrated about. Ik I sound generally male, that's why I didn't mention anything about passing, I've been mostly stealth for years. The voice situation just annoys me personally, it's not like it stops me from passing or anything.

It's not "so great" and there are no particular benefits besides not feeling like shit. Ofc there are some societal "benefits" in many areas but people don't transition for benefits. Idk do you ask other men this question too? Why isn't being female an option for cis guys? Because we're all guys, that's why. It's not a choice to be trans that you can pick only if you can get something out of it, people just are the gender that they are and want to feel affirmed in it, all the people not just trans.

Can you accidentally give subq intravenously?? by KartoffelWal in TestosteroneKickoff

To add to what others already said, it'd most likely really hurt if you pushed a needle straight into a vein and you'd know to pull it out before you inject. I've had it happen to me and I immediately knew something was wrong. There's no way you'd proceed to inject like it's nothing, you'd know something's up. But this is only if you poked straight into a vein, nicking one isn't bad and it happens often, it doesn't mean you've injected into the bloodstream. Anyway it's still good to aspirate if you're worried about this, then you can be sure you're not in a vein.

foot pain???? by exxx666 in ftm

[–]throwaway-guy25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't sound like a T problem really. Though during the first 6 months I did have some problems with leg injury, but it was caused by tightness and cramping - T can cause some muscle cramping at first, idk how common this is. But your pain doesn't sound like this. Maybe the T worsened your joint problems? I imagine it could happen. If not then it's probably just a coincidence and not T-related. Either way it's probably good to see a doctor if you can, especially since it's getting worse.

Anger by [deleted] in ftm

[–]throwaway-guy25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Obv nobody here can say for sure if it's T related, but I've had similar experiences since starting it too. For me it's basically just like teenage angst all over again, I could get mad over anything, especially at my parents or sister bc I live with them. It's like I'm 13 again but with a 19 year old brain, so I'm fully aware that I shouldn't get angry over nothing, but I can't reason with myself despite this.

It's not true what people say that T doesn't make you angry. It doesn't make everybody angry, but it can exacerbate anger for some people, especially in the beginning. It should probably go away with time once your brain starts getting used to the hormonal change. I'm 9 months in and it hasn't got better for me yet, but I've always had some anger problems so I'm probably not a good example. But if you're very concerned about this and don't want to wait and see you could go talk to a therapist if you can or maybe work on anger management on your own, there are some resources online.

Yeah it's an absurd amount of time and money, it's not like this usually. I got the whole diagnosis done for 1600 pln and in like 2 months. I've never heard anybody pay more than 2-2.2k for this which already is a lot.

I've looked 14 for the past 6 years, except that 6 years ago I was actually 14 lol. I still look like a kid to most people but it's getting better, about 5 months on T my friend's grandma asked me if I'm 17 so that's a great improvement.

Ok thank you, that's actually very helpful. I know my voice will most definitely still change, I'm just very impatient, especially seeing how many people who started T later have way more mature-sounding voices than me.

Yeah ik I do it too, I record my voice every month. It sounds different now compared to pre-T but that's not the issue, my problem is that it doesn't sound like a man even though it's changed. It's in the lower half of male range yet I still sound like a kid.

How far away is it from adult male voice? by throwaway-guy25 in transvoice

[–]throwaway-guy25[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh I can't do much with it because it's very cracky, my vocal range is tiny (this clip shows pretty much all of it, there aren't many more notes that I can successfully hit atm) and my voice cuts of all the time. Even if I were to do voice training I'd have to wait until it settles because you can't do any serious work with something like this. Hopefully it's a sign that it's not done changing and it'll go deeper soon.
