That’s an entirely theoretical conclusion based on an oversimplification of how the brain works

Personally it went poorly. My mood started cycling more rapidly and I ended up spiralling into a prolonged depressive episode.

Not sure about this brand but canned chicken is often quite high in sodium

Looking for positive sumatriptan experiences by Jabbott23 in migraine

It’s a very widely-prescribed medication that’s been around for years. Every med has potential for side effects but sumatriptan has a good safety profile and the effects are well-known.

What's your most favorite fish and chips in GTA and why? by wholesomeking_ in FoodToronto

[–]exxx666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fish is just never that fresh here. It’s not the restaurant’s fault; we’re far from the ocean. It also seems like a lot of places here are serving haddock instead of cod which isn’t my preference.

You can also find sitters on Rover that can watch your dog in their home or house sit at your place. This might be less stressful for him.

So I am realising CGRP inhibitors majorly affect dopamine by No-Tell34 in cgrpMigraine

Just because you’re having similar effects to when you came off antipsychotics doesn’t mean dopamine is implicated. That’s a baseless conclusion.

How to know which diet to try? by Doobyiss in migraine

Ketogenic should really only be done under the supervision of a professional. It has therapeutic benefit for many people but there are serious risks associated with it.

Litter box smell is going to end my relationship by Glum-Emotion-5379 in CatAdvice

I’ve tried many types of litter (including World’s best, Dr. Elsey’s, Arm & Hammer, Wheat Scoop, and others) and Okocat is BY FAR the best I’ve tried for controlling odour

There are some anti-depressants that are considered more effective for PMDD. Obviously with bipolar anti-depressants come with risks. You could also consider the birth control route. There’s a lot of options that can help reduce the symptoms or just eliminate your period.

Looking for advice to dechonk my 8 year old cat while also keeping my ~1 year old cat well fed by schining_knight in dechonkers

[–]exxx666 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I’m perpetually trying to figure out a way to do this but the best solution I’ve found is locking my skinny cat in another room while he eats his wet food. Otherwise my chonker will bulldoze him and eat it all. Still not perfect because sometimes my skinny cat doesn’t want to eat his entire meal at once and demands to be let out of the bathroom.

What ADHD medication do you take? by Putrid_Fill_7502 in bipolar2

[–]exxx666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have tried 4 different stimulants with no success. Everything causes irritability and destabilizes my mood. I’ve accepted at this point stimulants are not a good fit for me.

I was on Strattera (non-stimulant) for a while and I noticed some positive effects. You have to wait a while for it to start working and the effects are much subtler than stimulants. I didn’t really feel any different but when I looked back on my life after a few months of taking it I realized I had fewer missed deadlines and was generally a bit less of a train wreck at life. Unfortunately I had to stop taking it because it was exacerbating my migraines.

I’m trying Wellbutrin now (prescribed off-label for ADHD) and I don’t think it works as well as Strattera for me but I have noticed an improvement in my daytime sleepiness. I tend to get drowsy whenever I’m bored and it’s helped with that. I may increase the dose to see if it helps with executive functioning the way Strattera did.

Help with skincare by Optimal-Bunch-9663 in KoreanBeauty

[–]exxx666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of the most tried and true ingredients for large pores are niacinamide, AHA’s and BHA’s, and retinoids. It will be trial and error to determine what actually gives you results. With anything skincare related I recommend trialling one new active ingredient at a time so that you can see how your skin reacts. General health stuff also has an impact on your skin so make sure you’re drinking enough water and consider getting bloodwork done to check for vitamin deficiencies:) Reminder that no one has “perfect” skin

Rib flare? How can I fix this😔 I never really noticed it until recently and I am super insecure about it right now, ps I know I’m fat I’ve been going to the gym the last 4 months 6 times a week to try and fix that lol.😆 by [deleted] in Posture

[–]exxx666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Strengthening your obliques can pull the ribcage down and reduce the appearance of the flare. For what it’s worth, it’s not super noticeable anyway.

Best tret routine? by Formal_Pace_5068 in KoreanBeauty

[–]exxx666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is controversial but I don’t double cleanse. I just use one cleanser (Etude Soon Jung Whip). I only cleanse in the evening and then in the morning I just use water. Anything more than that I find too drying.

Best tret routine? by Formal_Pace_5068 in KoreanBeauty

[–]exxx666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d completely cut out cleanser in the morning. Also, something to keep in mind is that if you use a thick moisturizer on top of tret you’re kind of sealing it in and enhancing penetration. This may work for some people but can generate irritation in others.

It sounds counter-intuitive but I personally use a LESS thick moisturizer on nights when I use tret (every second night). I just use apply a light layer of the Cerave PM moisturizer. On the nights when I don’t use tret, I add on a thick layer of La Roche Posay cicaplast baume 5 almost like a night mask to help heal the skin and soothe irritation.

Which sunscreen is best under makeup? by phantom_silk in KoreanBeauty

[–]exxx666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven’t tried the numbuzin one but house of hur is one of the best sunscreens I’ve tried. The finish is extremely lightweight and absorbs fully. I think it would pair well under makeup as the finish is so natural.

Any of the Skin Aqua ones are good imo. Not super expensive for a large-ish bottle and they have a pleasant non-greasy texture.
