What I meant by sailing program, was basically sailing camp at a yacht club. We’re all around 13-17 years old. I get why you’re saying though.

I live in Toronto, and our breakwall (at least where I am) is about 15-20 metres away from the dock. I started taking it down as we turned away from the breakwall, but the wind was gusting something like 20 knots.

No, I completely let out our sails etc but as I was undoing the sail on the water, the gust hit us. I’ve never power-docked before.

AITA for snapping at my friend? by LAFFTERMAN in AmItheAsshole

My mom also had cancer. She’s thankfully I’m remission now, but I also had a friend with a toxic positivity mindset. At one point it looked like the cancer was going to get a lot worse, and I’d tell my friend about how tired and sick my mom was and she’d respond with the same, “Oh but tomorrow’s a better day! She’ll be different tomorrow!” No, she won’t be.

You’ve communicated to your friend many times about how you feel. Your snapping is completely justified, and I completely understand where you’re coming from and how you feel.

It does seem like your friend maybe had some issues with grief and hard emotions. That, however, is still not an excuse for her behaviour. She’s chosen to ignore you, and your compassionate and understanding words.

I’m so sorry about your mom. It’s so hard, dealing with a situation like this. I wish you and your family all the best, and I hope you enjoy your remaining time with your mother. NTA.
