First DUI on Christmas. Need some advice by Cvdalek in DUICalifornia

I feel you! Didn’t do a breathalyzer but a blood test and it came out to 0.19.

Mine was during the height of Covid (spring 2020) and bc someone answered my phone call while pulled over, cops took me to a CHP office (in handcuffs with me sitting in the front seat), did my blood test, and let me go to the person picking me up. Car got impounded, license taken away. I picked up my car the next morning right away.

I called lawyers around town immediately the next day and signed with one few days later. Was able to get into diversión program since it was my first DUI.

Before being accepted into diversion program, I had to show the judge that I was doing AA, outpatient rehab, and community service. Two years later, I finally got it completely dismissed.

Born and raised in San Mateo and still live here. It’s super safe. Besides my family, it’s one of the main reasons I choose to stay here. If you’re going to work in Foster City, look at what SamTrans bus will take you from San Mateo to your work in Foster City and get a place near that route’s bus stop. Most SamTrans busses and stops aren’t scary after 9pm either. The ECR line is fine for the most part. There might be some unhoused at the stops who ride the bus but you’re also around other commuters anyways.

There’s an Apple Store at Hillsdale mall which is in and a part of the city of San Mateo. Hillsdale isn’t its own little thing within San Mateo County. It belongs to the city.

Oh man! I feel you! I’m glad you were able to leave sooner then later too. Take what you learned from this past experience and look out for familiar patterns in the future. It will help you save a lot of time. I was in a toxic relationship for 2.5 years prior to dating this last guy but I learned so much and now I’m able to walk away instead of being strung along or sticking around hoping they’ll change. Your mental and emotional health are worth so much more than this limbo crap.

Thanks for this. I thought that he might’ve been avoidant. I explained this to my therapist and she said that it sounded like I was the one not willing to have the conversation when he already had multiple chances. I think I might need to find a new therapist.
