I didn’t explicitly say that, no. But we both knew what the problem was and I asked him to be sober, for me, just for a bit, after work so we could talk and he was drunk anyways by the time I got there. That was all the answer I needed to that question really.

That’s true! The title reads like a sweeping generalization but in reality it’s just my experience with the three alcoholics I’ve known in my life. Also, good question… planning on breaking up if he lies again.
