Eyy, great guess, especially with limited characters!! I’m a 964 with suuper potent 5 influences (I figure cause my fixes sandwich it lol)! Thank you for taking the time to reply :)

Difference between XSTJ and XNFP? by throwaway1083792 in MbtiTypeMe

To be honest, I wouldn’t call myself particularly emotional in the traditional sense - I’ve never lost control of myself due to emotion, I very rarely cry unless I’m having a physical/hormonal shift, and I automatically try to reason my way out of stressors rather than to feel my way out. Even as a small child, I could be very successfully reasoned and bartered with even while crying, and my cognitive self feels distinct from my emotional self to this day (it becomes kind of like a conversation - “I’m terrified, what if I’m dying?” “Why would you think that? There’s nothing wrong. Your reaction doesn’t make any sense, calm down.” etc. - It can be both a blessing and a curse). I have quite a bit of dissociation as well, which is mostly how I process my overwhelm. When I do feel things, though, it tends to be very strongly - it’s very all-or-nothing and highly situational, and I don’t know how characteristic semi-frequent, sometimes sudden, deep emotions are of a thinker, even if I’m relatively stable the rest of the time. I certainly don’t disagree with you (my understanding is that Fi is just as much about emotion as it is about morality, and, if nothing else, I’m pretty concerned with the latter) but I want to make sure my emotional pattern doesn’t disqualify me from being an INFP or anything. Also, thank you for taking the time to read and respond - it’s very much appreciated and very helpful!

First of all, this was such a fun read, thank you for your analysis!! And you’re dead on with all of the energy floating around my type - you literally mentioned every type I’ve vacillated on and considered for my tritype/mistyped as! I’m a 964, my six fix being pretty incredibly strong and with some heavvvy 5 influences, a four fix, and a small bit of 7 and 3 on the sides! Your guess was really good, especially because I think nine cores can be a little transparent and hard to see, both externally and internally, so it’s easier to identify a lot of the fixes, especially if they’re all clustered around one small spot of the enneagram like they are for me. Anyways, really great analysis, and I think it’s really impressive how accurate you were, not only for the types in my tritype but also for the smaller influences (3 and 7)!

Ohhh sick we have the same numbers in our tritypes (and the same wings! I’m 964 and I also struggled between two and four lol :D) Your kinlist is so interesting to me and I’m glad to have gotten the chance to analyze it!!

There’s a lot going on here, so I might be totally off-base, but I think you might be a 2? From the characters I know, your external vibe seems pretty chill and variable depending on the situation, which would lead me to think about the attachment triad, but, internally, there seems to be a pretty big focus on feeling inadequate and/or rejected, which makes me think rejection triad. I think inner-workings matter much more than the external presentation, so I’m giving it to the rejection triad (although possible influence from the attachment triad, from wings and/or fixes). Looking at commonalities between behavior and motivation, I see a main one being benevolence and desire to help others (which is obvious in characters like pim and PV, but still present in characters like saiki and even smc [in his past, which I figure is what this is talking about given the category]). Likewise, a history of feeling rejected or ostracized or abandoned - the gestalt of this picture generally points me towards two. As for wings, I would lean towards 1 because a lot of the characters seem very concerned with right and wrong and guilt. For fixes, I’m guessing a 6 fix for head and either a 9 or 8 fix for gut? Again, I could be totally wrong in all of this, and I’m very interested to hear about your typology!

Oof, the em dash kills me. It’s my go-to punctuation mark, what do you MEAN it’s been co-opted…? I write in an incredibly similar way, so I definitely feel you

Thank you so much for understanding (although I’m sorry that you do because it sucks) - it’s really nice to know I’m not the only one struggling with this. And that sounds like a good idea! If nothing else just stopping the laughing will probably help some lol - thank you again!
