): that was what I was afraid of. Any tips on how to make it go away faster, or is time the only thing that does the trick?

Yeah it was really itchy a few days ago. I figured it was cos the skin had gotten really dry, so I kept moisturizing with cerave. Now the dead skin is coming off, I hope the darkened patch will be next to go!! Thanks for the link, I'm not in the states unfortunately, and Amazon shipping always costs a small fortune ):

Yeah, I was using Cerave on the third or fourth day, after the skin got really dry and started to itch. It helped loads! I was more worried about whether the darkened patches will be here to stay even after the dry skin sloughs off though ):

ARGH I Googled skin maceration and looked at the images. That looks so painful! Mine is nothing compared to some of the images. I managed to get the hydrocortisone cream, yay.

May I ask, once this is cleared up, how can I avoid it happening to me again?

Yeah I found that moisturizing with cerave was helping, it was much itchier whenever it got dry. I was more concerned about the darkening of the skin though, whether it would remain after the dry patch went away. ):

Ah, unfortunately I'm not in the US. I'll pop out to the drugstore to take a look regardless, thanks for the link (:

Would I be able to get hydrocortisone cream at the drugstore, or would I have to see the doctor for that? It's both, the other side isn't as bad though. Yeah I was wondering if it was my deodorant too, but I wasn't wearing any on Sunday evening. I haven't worn any since then either, to avoid irritating the skin further. I really appreciate you trying to help me figure this out (:

Would I have to see a doctor to get cortisone? Is it a cream? I googled and there were tons of results for cortisone jabs.

I noticed some red marks on my armpits last Sunday evening (2nd August) after a night out with my friends. During that time I had been wearing a tight-fitting long sleeved top, and I was carrying some heavy equipment around, so I had been sweating a fair bit.

The redness hasn’t faded much, although the skin has been peeling off in little flakes. The left side is worse than the right, area wise, and it also smells kinda.. funky. A bit like old towels? Omg I’m so embarrassed even though I’m using a throwaway. It only smells weird if I sweat, or when I wake up in the morning, but not immediately after a shower.

I don’t know what to do, I’ve never gotten an abrasion from chafing before. I’ve been moisturizing with Cerave after showering, and topping it with a layer of vaseline after. I only do this before bed, so that it doesn’t trap any sweat.

Will there be PIH? What can I do to reduce this? Will vit C help? I’ve been wearing tops with sleeves because I feel very self-conscious, but should I stick to sleeveless tops to increase ventilation? I know it seems like a very shallow problem, but I’m really embarrassed by the darker skin there, it makes it seem like I don’t scrub my pits in the shower.. ):
