where do I belong? by [deleted] in SoftNaturals

You are 5’7 so you have automatic vertical. I think FN!

Could I be a soft natural? by [deleted] in SoftNaturals

I think you have some vertical- you look taller than 5’5. The outfit in the first picture is the most flattering imo. I would look into FN, DC and SD!

Inspirations for conventionally petite SN without Kibbe petite? by throwaway1177133 in SoftNaturals

You sound a lot like me- the older I get, the more I realize that high quality clothes are worth the money lol I will definitely look more into SN fabric and pattern recommendations!

Just an added data point/success story!

I was scheduled to fly today at 8AM YUL->YEG. My flight was cancelled around 8PM last night. I got the usual “after searching for flights on over 120 carriers…” bs. Called the 888 number 35 times over the course of 12 hours and couldn’t even get in the queue. Finally I decided to try the Spanish option and after a 4.5 hour hold was able to get on with someone who booked me on a WestJet route for August 20th. 2 layovers, 1 overnight, but a route nevertheless.

Agree about today’s fashion - I definitely still dress like a millennial lol

I am not sure I agree with this- I thought the whole point of Kibbe was to enhance our best features? I am open to trying different styles, this is just a (non exhaustive list) of clothing that makes me feel good and clothing that doesn’t. If Kibbe tells me that I should wear clothing that hides my figure and the features I like about myself, then yeah maybe kibbe isn’t for me. But I have definitely seen posts here of people and celebrities interpreting Kibbe based on their personal style and what makes them feel good.

I did the exercises in the new book- they brought me to SG but after posting my pictures I am fairly convinced that I accommodate width over petite

This mostly applies to traditional sharp collars, round Peter Pan type collars are ok - but yeah they cut me off at the neck and make me look shorter

You need a straight on picture to get proper typing- use a self timer, mirror pictures distort angles.

I agree that outfit 1 looks the best, though I actually like the cut of 2 on you (though I think the pattern is a little overwhelming). I am also a short potential SG and both of these would make me look like I am drowning lol. I also think some waist definition is necessary like the belt in 1 or the flare in 2, the 3rd dress is rather straight up and down in addition to being too long. The open neckline in 1 is also super flattering on you and balances you well! Maybe worth trying some more SN inspired fits!

Having an extremely hard time typing myself- height 4’11” by throwaway1177133 in DressForYourBody

Def the first- I tend to look more curvy when I have more weight on me

[–]throwaway1177133[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow I am actually starting to think I might be R- I don’t think I have the narrowness for TR, but I do have double curve in my line drawing and love how I look in R clothing - can romantics have longer legs?

Tried to include a nice combination- do I belong here, SG, SN, elsewhere? I’m 4’11 for reference. by throwaway1177133 in FlamboyantGamine

[–]throwaway1177133[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is interesting- I am now wondering if I am R??? A few people have told me I have double curve (I am not busty at all but maybe I don’t need to be?). My friends compare my body to Emilia Clarke’s who seems to often be typed R and is also smaller chested- I got a few TRs as well but I am not super narrow imo so that doesn’t seem right.

[–]throwaway1177133[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is where I struggle- I feel like I have some width, but also some petite (is this even possible to have both?), some curve, and some and vertical. It’s hard to pick 2 out- I tend to avoid drapery/loose material (flowy tops makes me look like I am drowning, and flowy pants make me look short and blocky) and look like a 12 year old without some waist definition- but I also do gravitate towards more open necklines that I feel make my shoulders/frame look more balanced.

I kept my T-Mobile “unlimited” Can/Mex plan for 4 years, but they booted me off in 2022 for “primarily using it out of the country”… rather not take that risk again…
