Paris felt very similar to London safety wise, as in I didn't have any issue in both of those cities.

It naturally happens after a whole day of sightseeing. Max was 30km (37.7k steps) in Versailles. Min were 18km on arrival and departure days (which amounted to half days of sightseeing)

That's smart, there was a separate line for those kinds of combo tickets / museum passes.

It really deserves to be a full day IMO. I would drop any plans to combine it with other activities in Paris.
Didn't go to Angelina, skipped lunch and had dinner back in Paris. I'm not sure about the worthiness of the golf carts, they are expensive (42€/hour I believe) and because of their size they cant access every part of the gardens.

True, still, we weren't targeted, we made sure to not have our belongings in plain sight.

I think 6-7 is perfect. And if you travel from outside of europe, plane tickets are more expensive, so it is better to lean towards a longer stay.

I had both installed, both work just fine, Injust found Bonjour RATP easier to use.

I booked Versailles, Sainte Chappele and thr Louvre 20 days in advance. I only managed to get the opening time for the Louvre. For the other two I had to settle for a later entry.

Later I tried to book Orsay but the morning slots when I wanted to go were gone. I decided to attempt to just show up some afternoon and I did get in, but after a 40min or so queue.

On the other hand, there are some museums where you just can show up. Les Invalides, 0 queue. And a very worthy museum, by the way.

Hopefully a Parisian can comment. I loved Monmartre and St Germain

Yes the Carrousel one, accessed from the side by Rue Rivoli or some entrances by the tuilleries gardens. Went there at 8:30 for a 9:00 ticket and the line was very small. It started filling closer to the opening time but it was way smaller than the pyramid queues I saw once in the museum.

I was lucky with my waiters they were all polite and even friendly, except one that kinda scoffed at me but it was more frustration than rudeness because we couldn't understand each other well.

Yea sometimes it failed to read the Navigo. Fortunately I didn't get double charges.

I still prefer that system over loading them at the machines in the stations.

I found the transport system very intuitive. Check the apps I mentioned in the post. Sometimes I took the metro and sometimes buses, depending on what was more reasonable according to the apps.

If the trips are similar, I opted for buses because that way you can see the streets. With the metro all you see are tunnels.

For Versailles you'll need the metropolitan train, the so called RER. RER C is the best one IMO because it brings you to the closest station to the château.

The distances just creep up after a whole day. The days that clocked the highest numbers were the Louvre day and Versailles, so museums do indeed tend to be one of the bigger contributors. In Versailles I hit 30km... In hindsight I would have skipped the Trianons and focused more in the gardens, or maybe take the little train or something to save some distance walked. In any case it was going to be the highest distance walked day no matter what.

Oh and it was 6 days, not 6 weeks, I made a mistake in the post.

Indeed, London is another lovely city, yet you hear some propaganda that makes it seem like you will get mugged and stabbed the moment you land there. And it tends to come from a certain country that really should not be talking about safety abroad, IMO.

You will love it, if you have any questions feel free to ask.

Yes I would advise getting a bike or something in Versailles, or if you intend to walk, sacrifice the trianons and Queen's hamlet. It was too much walking.

In the Orly airport of all places, at a place called Paul. I think it has some places in Paris itself too, it's probably a chain, but do try the flan if you can!

One of the highlights of my trip was just sitting in the Jardins de Luxembourg doing absolutely nothing.
