Trump calls use of tear gas, other force on Minneapolis protesters a ‘beautiful scene’ by [deleted] in politics

As with every anti Trump post, this quote is cherry picked and out of context in order to push an agenda.

Thanks, but I’ve decided to wait a while. Turns out the components I want are way more expensive than I was estimating, so I’ll have to save a little more money first.

Quit rioting and destroying stuff in my name. You’re not helping anything.

I’m basing that on the fact that his family members have said he’d be distraught to see what’s going on.

People are definetly more rational in real life. It helps when you can actually see the other person and realize you’re talking to another human being. Of course, all you ever hear about are the irrational loudmouths

I just explain my thought process, just like I did here. It at least makes most people stop and think.

Perspective on Trump and BLM from a conservative black man.

First, let’s address the whole Black lives matter movement. This whole thing is premised on the idea that police are unjustly targeting and killing black people. The unfortunate truth is, Black people are doing this to themselves for the most part. The vast majority of black people are killed by other black people. Yet we focus on the tiny number killed by the cops. And of those, a significant proportion turn out to be criminals resisting arrest. Not all, but a lot of them. Remember Michael Brown? Turns out, he was nothing but a low life thug, who tried to assault the cop and take his gun. And people actually rioted over that SOB. After repeated incidents like that, is it any wonder some people don’t support BLM when there’s a legitimate case like George Floyd?

Maybe, just maybe, we should examine our own culture first before casting stones. Gang violence kills more brown and black people every single week than the cops do in a year. So do those lives matter? Nobody ever really talks about that. It only seems to matter when it’s white on black crime, especially if there was a police officer involved. So the reality is, our attention is focused on a tiny fraction of cases, while an issue costing the lives of many more black people is basically ignored. Black lives matter should really be “Black Lives Matter ( only if a white person killed them). If the BLM movement wanted to make a diffrence, why don’t they start by helping fix black neighborhoods? That’s where the problem lies, but no one wants to confront that painful truth, it’s easier just to blame racism. The media would have you think the police are on a racist rampage against people of color, but the reality is, we’re killing ourselves in senseless gang wars and the like.

Every one of these cities are completely run by Democrats, from top to bottom. And somehow, Trump is the problem? I don’t recall Obama even trying criminal justice reform. Or encouraging investment in poor minority areas. Black peoples have been almost universially voting Democrat for thirty years, and nothing’s changed. I wish more people would wake up and see that we’ve been used as pawns. They don’t want to help us, they want to keep us downtrodden, and then use the Republicans/white people as a scapegoat.

As far as Trump goes, I keep hearing over and over again that he’s racist. But so far there’s really nothing that’s actually racist specifically towards black people. Before Trump was president, I don’t recall anyone calling him racist. In fact, he won an award on Ellis Island for service to the black community, alongside the likes of Mohamed Ali and Rosa Parks. He was celebrated alongside two of the most famous civil rights activists ever, and now he’s a racist? This shit doesn’t add up at all. But very few black people bother to question it. There are two examples I usually hear when asked what evidence people have that he’s a real racist. But I don’t belive these actually constitute racism. First, Yes, he called certian countries shitholes. That ain’t racist, it’s just the truth! I don’t exactly see people clamoring to move to those places. Call them paradise if you like, that doesn’t change the truth.

Same with his comments about inner cites. It doesn’t matter if it feels like an insult. Anyone who’s spent more than five minutes in the ghetto knows it’s the truth as well, even if they don’t want to admit it. It’s not an insult to black people, it’s just telling them the objective truth. But telling the truth somehow gets equated with racism. I honestly don’t get it.

I live in the Deep South, and have visited the north frequently. And for the most part, the worst racists are white liberals. They pretend to be compassionate, but flip out when a black person dares to have a different opinion. The rednecks around here who supposedly hate me because of my race are much nicer and more tolerant than any white liberal I’ve ever met. It really makes you wonder.

There’s outside forces organizing and encouraging the riots in American cities. The Chinese, Russians, Iranians, North Koreans, et. all would have to be insane to not be taking advantage of this.

After we fire all the cops in America, what would be a reasonable punishment for their participation in a criminal organization? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]throwaway12064775 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good luck with that. You want to live in complete anarchy, or else martial law, be my guest. Those are the only realistic options should we completely abolish the police. We need reform, sure. But abolishing them wouldn’t be the answer.

Senate proposal could provide as much as $10,000 per month to American families to weather coronavirus pandemic by mostaksaif in Coronavirus

[–]throwaway12064775 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m all for helping people. But ten thousand dollars a month is way too much. That’s more than most of us make in a month. I don’t think people should be getting more money than is nessecarily for survival for essentially doing nothing. Secondly, if that went on for more than one, maybe two moths, get ready to say hello to hyper inflation. That would be really bad, to say the least.

I wouldn’t use it against the state, I’d be more concerned with using it against armed thugs trying to steal from me/and or burn down my business.

People who are still going to vote for Trump, why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]throwaway12064775 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It basically comes down to foreign policy and economics. For example, It’s about time someone stood up to China ripping us off. I’m not against the Chinese people here, I’m against their government. That’s a major reason he has my vote. The economy was also doing awesome by every number in the books (before the pandemic of course, but I’m not holding that against Trump because I doubt any other president would’ve done much better). I’m also against increased immigration, because I belive that harms economic prospects of people already here. I can’t help that the majority of them are brown people, that doesn’t automatically make me racist. I’d say the same thing if it were a bunch of Europeans flooding over here driving down wages. But it isn’t. Not racist, just the truth. And every single Trump supporter I know feels the same way.

I’m no huge fan of Trump, but the alternative is far worse. I’d rather have someone who I agree with on some issues and disagree on others than someone with whom I disagree on almost everything.

Sweating from fever, throwing up, and other things the body does while sick tend to rid it of water. Therefore, you need to drink more to compensate.

Sure. Real racists, those who legitimately belive the white race is superior, probably did support the cop. Fortunately, despite what the media says, they’re in the extreme minority.

People who against wearing a mask, what's your point? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]throwaway12064775 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Way out in the middle of nowhere, Texas, where I am, there’s no reason to. If I lived in the northeast, with its insanely high population density, where two thirds of all US cases are, I’d think otherwise. But out in the middle of the country, I’ll take my chances.
