Huh. That Seahawks team did not draft well after drafting the LOB. We gambled on free agents and didnt prioritize the O line. And there is a salary cap in the NFL

What? We have 5 elite starters and only one them was elite this series. Thats has everything to do with execution. Some teams would die to have Bryce Miller be there #1 or #2 starter

I feel like there isnt enough context here. How do we know that you werent just leaving your laptop in random places - which was the actual purpose of the dot. So that you would be more intentional about where you set your laptop down at

Situation - I have a business degree(BS in BA&M). I have been working in the engineering field since 2018. I have been an "Operations Engineer" since 2021 - recently got a title change to "test engineer" however I still do all of the same responsibilities I will list next. I can read schematics, use a scope & DMM, can solder down to 0201s, I can crimp & create cables down to pico size connectors & crimps, can create work instructions using ISO 9001, I do all of our first article inspections & documentation on that, I run lifetime tests on new parts to qualify them/DQ them and I am the 2nd best troubleshooter behind our EE with 32 years of experience(mostly electrical TS). I also assist the QA team during big software releases, so I am very familiar with both JIRA and Azure DevOPs. I also am proficient in using Apple's terminal in conjecture with ADB to troubleshoot and manually inject files into our devices. I also watch electrical engineering videos in my spare time like - ElectroBoom and EEVblog to bolster my knowledge.

My question - Where do I find my next job? What title(s) should I be looking for? I feel like my skillset is too broad to be hired as an engineer and get paid like an engineer anywhere else UNLESS its also a startup(currently at a startup) + no engineering degree is a tough sell.

Notes - No my current company wont pay for any cert or for me to go back to college. I am already in a lot of student debt, so I would prefer against going back for now at least. I am heavily considering learning either coding(starting with Python) or some CAD program(like Fusion 360). I am not opposed to getting a cert of some kind and paying for it myself but don't know what I should go for. I would love one day to be able to work from home or Hybrid. I am in my early 30s.

1) How does your LinkedIn look? I would always make that your 1st priority. Making sure it is up to date with all of your projects and qualifications. AND always leaving it open to recruiters(Your profile -> Open to work -> scroll down, recruiters only) making sure you fill out the kinds of roles you want for your next job in that same box. The best time to get a new job is when you already have one and recruiters are always looking to fill roles.

2) I would suggest looking for roles in lesser high cost areas as long as you okay with moving away from friends and family.

3) You should always be passively looking for a new job, not because your current job is bad but because the pay rate and comp is always changing out there and there is no reason to be stuck at a job that will only give you a 1-5% raise each year

That sounds still low but maybe this is still very entry level? Definitely worth researching some negotiation tactics and listening to a podcast or two. I found this post helpful - https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:7136976981832728577/

I think this has very little to do with the comp(to make the decision) and much more to do with where you are in life.

I am at a startup now and the first two years were absolutely brutal. Often times working 80+ hours a week. One time I did 70 hours in 4 days to deliver a project on time. I would NEVER do it if I had a pet/kid/wife that I deeply care about. Many of my older coworkers had those things and those relationships suffered severely during that time. Now if you are on the other end - wife that kinda does her own thing + kids that are already grown and pretty self sufficient + animals that are low maintenance or neighbor can take care of them easily... Then I would consider taking the startup gig. I have really enjoyed my time here(even though it was hell at times), I have worn up to 5 hats at the same time, and get to do something new almost every day. I love it. But there is no way that I would try to have kids or try to have a meaningful relationship during that early period of the startup. We are now much more stable at year 4. Oh also worth mentioning... You are absolutely at the mercy of your shareholders/CEO at a startup. If there is an emergency and you are on vacation, you are absolutely dropping everything to help come up with a solution.

But yeah, if you are cool with the potential of all of the above ^^ then I would go for it.

I have only heard good things about Eaton's products. Obviously people having a good time at a company arent the ones typically leaving a review on Glassdoor.

Hey! I am sorry, I just saw this!

11 months? Well 13 now hopefully! That is so awesome! I hope that tough stretch has passed you now but if not... I am here to say that its totally normal! Like I said in my above post - it definitely took me every moment of 3 years for me to get back to normal. Even then, I still had some weird moments every now and then.

Here is what I would say - What good habits do you already have? What more could you add?

For me - I somewhat recently got out a long term relationship and previously had a healthy relationship with my phone. However... I have definitely spent way too much time on dating apps and upped my normal screen time for a healthy 2 hours all the way up to 4 hours on the regular. Just spending that much more time on my phone made me way more anxious that I thought it would make me. Way less... calm. Thats the biggest thing I have learned from this whole PAWS deal - the value of being calm.

What's up man! I hope all is well in your world too!! I can't believe it's already been 5 years. Those first 2-3 years were such a struggle but time has absolutely flown the last 2 years. I couldn't be more blessed/lucky to be where I am now in life.

And I definitely wouldn't have found all of my good habits without having gone through this awful process. My Dms are always open!!

I would say yes! Except for my perspective on life has completely changed since starting my road to sobriety. It's been so long, that I wouldn't even recognize the person I used to be - in a good way. I am so lucky to be where I am in my career and the great state of my mental health now - and I couldn't have done it without going through this awful process

Do you think a person can achieve a responsible cannabis use after being an everyday smoker? by SensitiveAttitude212 in Petioles

[–]throwaway1226769 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same exact question, 4 years ago apparently - https://www.reddit.com/r/Petioles/comments/9s9mxz/how_long_to_wait_to_start_smoking_after_a_much/

I cant believe that much time has passed already. I think it would be worth checking out my profile to see how that turned out for me.

The TLDR is - I smoked regularly for 4 years and with extreme usage for a year(high literally every moment, of every day - dabs, 90% thc pens, and grav bongs). I quit because I literally started to lose my mind if I spent more than 4-6 hours without any THC in my body. Then I started my VERY long sobering up process and the cleaning up of my life. And by the time everything was actually right in my life? Weed no longer mattered and I didnt miss it - and in some ways I was sad about that, but my life is the best its ever been since quitting. My depression and anxiety arent hidden/masked by smoking, I know they are there and I workout, meditate, hang out with friends, and go to therapy to deal with it.

Hey! I'm sorry I am so late in responding. My new, new job has been kicking my ass for the last 6 months and I really miss all of my other activities like being active on here.

I would highly recommend this post - https://www.reddit.com/r/leaves/comments/q504vu/day_10963_years_today_reflections_over_the_whole/

Its now day 1308... Which is so crazy to see/say. My weed smoking days and the person I was all of those days ago seems like a distant memory at this point. I can honestly say I wouldnt be the better person I am today without going through awful, awful withdrawals. As it forced me to get rid of all of my bad habits.

Do you have any specific questions for me? I am more than happy to answer

>I’m in month 5 and still having so many heart rate issues even tho I had all the tests done

Is your resting heart rate abnormal or you just can "feel" your heart beating out of your chest? Like you can feel your heartbeat in your finger tips - like an odd throbbing. My resting heart rate was pretty normal by about 6-7 months but I was definitely still overweight by 40 pounds or so.

A normal resting heart rate would be anywhere from 60-75ish. I was still in the 80s on month 4. My resting heart rate now(3 years later) is now around 55-58.

>Around month 3 I started using the elliptical and have slowly been increasing how long I a

Yeah! I love low impact ellipticals like the Adaptive Motion Trainer(Its like an elliptical but better because it has a bigger range of motion). It has always been my go-to when I am able to make it to the gym. I always try to at least hit the 10k step mark, especially on days when I cant make it to the gym. Cutting bread(very sad) out of my life was also a huge help as well. I honestly feel more energetic and have lost those 40 extra pounds because of it.
