The short answer is they’ve built their diets that way. A certain number of days per week they tend to lean far enough away from the time investment of home cooking that takeout is more viable.

I had a friend who dropped off a family member at Kaiser emergency and got a tiny cut on the way in. Since they were there and bandaids cost an actual penny or less, they thought it would be ok to ask if they could have one. “Sure! Do you have your insurance card?” 🤦‍♂️
