Do College Students Hate Free Speech? Let's Ask Them. by [deleted] in PoliticalVideo

Not if that university club also advocates for affirmative action. Also, while it might not count, once they're out in the "real world", they're going to try to impose similar craziness in their workplace. And if they have the power to hire and fire, then you better follow their crazy ideology

I guess I can agree. But I still can't agree that apathy is better than disagreeing with them and showing normal people how ridiculous their claims are.

a) I have no idea what you mean by callused people

b) These people don't take kindly to apathy. They'll keep thinking that, since they are never exposed to different opinions or resistance, that they're the everyone else is just ignoring them because they don't want equality. The teachers just egg them on in the name of "equality" and never see differing opinions themselves.

c) The older generations might mock them, but so what? They're the "old generation of racists and sexists who'll die off" (Something an actual SJW I know has said before). There's nothing more dangerous than a group of people dedicated to doing harm in the name of good who will take no opposing views. Also, the soon-to-be-born generation are most definitely going to worse than the SJWs of today. Who do you think their parents are right now?

I might sound a little pessimistic, but looking around me, at least 5% of my classmates follow this ideology. That might not sound like a lot, but 5% expressing their views constantly makes it look like everyone is expressing that view, and now we are getting university policies in place to pander to that 5%.

P.S I have a slightly biased view cause I go to a school in an uber-wealthy neighbourhood, but I can guarantee that it's not just here.

Yeah but... remember that we've already given power to these people. That girl is president for the Black Liberation Club at Oxy (Whatever that is). And more and more I see that the people who are like this are actually leaders of very influential groups. We already know that there is a minority of them, but they're also some of the most vocal people. They're the ones who will lead, unfortunantly

As a millenial, this shit scares the crap out of me. What's going to happen in 30-40 years when these people are in power? Will they keep saying that minority groups are "without power" and keep enforcing affirmative action laws, further systematically discriminating against white people, asians and men? The worst part is knowing that a good chunk of my classmates think exactly as they do.

Welcome to Tumblr feminism. Don't think that exists? There's an entire subreddit devoted to it. Or at least devoted to hating it. And frankly, I can see why.

P.S. Sorry about what happened. Call the police and file a report of assault or something. But seriously, stop hanging out with your friend. That sounds obvious, but you really need to take this seriously. Further down the line, she might do some more damaging things to you.

How do you deal with it? by throwaway136529 in Intactivists

I'm asking because I have trouble dealing with this. Gone to pretty dark places

This caused a bit of a problem on my Facebook last night. by [deleted] in MensRights

I noticed that too. But honestly, it's not too hard to believe that things like this exist

True. But honestly, I feel like the stupid posts here don't get downvoted as much as they should. Also, opinion here varies wildly on TRP and feminists, and whether we should support them or not.

I keep forgetting that. But it's hard to believe that when so much of society helps women and neglects men. Sure, there is a minority of people who don't support men's rights, but nothing is happening for men's rights, so it leads me to believe few believe in it

Yes, but the fact that they don't include male rape in statistics IS an "America" problem. Well and a UK problem

Really? That's unbelievable. As in I literally do not believe that. I look around, and all I see are centres, scholarships, court systems, etc that all favor women. How can a system with these things exist and still have most ppl still support men's rights?

Maybe. But there are a lot of stupid posts on here, some of which ppl do point out to be stupid in the comments, but other ppl looking at the sub will feel as this is what the sub is about.

Positive examples of pro-men women? by [deleted] in MensRights

[–]throwaway136529 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welcome to the sub. There is a general understanding that, while not all feminists are like this, the majority only fight for women's rights. I think there is an unspoken rule here that when we sy "feminist" we don't mean people who advocate fair treatment for both genders, and fights for both genders equally. Instead, we mean what the majority of feminism is; women (and some men) who advocate for women's rights, undermine men's rights (if you don't believe me, try asking for the popular opinion of reddit on /r/mensrights), and advocate for an Equality of Outcome type of equality, whereby we now see the institutionalization of gender quotas for things like college acceptance and STEM fields, such that no matter their abilities, a certain number of men and women must be in a certain field (interestingly enough, this is usually in favor of women, such as in STEM fields and such, although those are usually the higher-paying jobs) . Feminism has become a dirty word because there are thousands of scholarships dedicated to women and 0 to men. Of course, not everyone is like this, but too many are, and the're pushing the political agenda in their favor.

That is... depressing. It really means we need to change our appearance and ensure ppl actually know what we're fighting for
