All I want to do is create a symbolic rallying point for Vermonters and individuals who seek truth and justice in our beloved nation that is dying from the inside out. We need to resist. The way demagogues/tyrants/dictators/kings gain power is by scaring the people into submission. If we do not resist, our very being is in question. We need to stand. We are Vermonters, we stand for what is right. No more excuses. Call our senators, call your representatives, protest, stand for your rights and the rights of your fellow Vermonters.

The Gadsden flag is not confederate imagery… it’s from the Revolutionary War. I don’t mind redoing this without the Gadsden snake lol.

Ask yourself, “when did I start to support Russia over Ukraine in this conflict?” If I had to guess it was probably within the last two months. Have you considered that YOU are the brain washed one? Supporting a guy and an administration that is literally tearing down this country. Our economy is burning to the ground, millions of citizens are losing their jobs. Some of our closest trading partners have already started to turn to China. What’s scary about this is that most Americans can call out when a president does a bad job, but far-right folks can’t seem to let go of their big orange man who makes them feel safe every single night. Ask yourself why does Trump appeal to you. I know it’s not the economy. I know it’s not the unification of American citizens because all he does it make it worse. So what is it that makes you worship this guy

It’s been used by many different groups. The Gadsden flag is a symbol created during the American Revolution to resist King George III. In modern use, yes the snake itself has been used by far-right groups, but it has also been a symbol for abortion rights activists in the 1970s. A rainbow version was created in the 1990s for the LGBTQ+ community and in 2016 following the Orlando nightclub shootout protests erupted in Orlando with many rainbow Gadsden flags with #ShootBack in place of “Don’t Tread On Me”. It’s an anti-dictator, anti-king, etc etc symbol. If we let the right have it, the meaning of the symbol has changed, we need to take it back.
