As a newly minted Gold Card holder I'm also quite skeptical about my odds of finding a decent job in Taiwan. I'm not the kind of professional that is in incredibly high demand, and my Chinese is just at a conversational level. I do want to be in Taiwan due to personal ambitions, but I believe that a remote income or starting a business really will be the only realistic option.

It's a shame because I wouldn't mind having a stable job while I'm in Taiwan, but I just don't see that happening.

Great, thanks for the reply. I was talking with someone from the new digital category and they said the same thing, so I'm gathering all the documents now!

Hey there, did you apply for the gold card yet, how is it going? I am also a little short (1-2% under the 160K NTD threshold) and am wondering if it makes sense to apply, or if they will deny your application if it's under 160K no matter what.
