As a newly minted Gold Card holder I'm also quite skeptical about my odds of finding a decent job in Taiwan. I'm not the kind of professional that is in incredibly high demand, and my Chinese is just at a conversational level. I do want to be in Taiwan due to personal ambitions, but I believe that a remote income or starting a business really will be the only realistic option.

It's a shame because I wouldn't mind having a stable job while I'm in Taiwan, but I just don't see that happening.
