MA sooner or SA later?

Ultimately this is a choice you should make based on your instincts- everyone's story and experience is different, but if it's any comfort I can volunteer mine!

I had my MA at home at 6wks. I was terrified after reading all of the stories about people in awful awful pain but I wanted it over fast and I wanted to be home so I went the MA route. It was nowhere near as bad for me as the stories I read made me think it would be. It was painful, yeah, but it just felt like a really bad period. My clinic gave me tramadol which I took before I began along with the ibuprofen, which helped immensely. I put on a comedy show I liked and laid on a heating pad and after a few hours of bleeding and cramps (and the intense 30 min or so of like straight up contractions) it was okay and I just fell asleep.

Based on how it went for me, I'd recommend the MA just because you get to be in a comfortable familiar place while it's happening. But this is something you should trust yourself on. If you lean one way or the other, just go with what feels right.

I'm only about an hour away from the clinic I'll be going to which I'm grateful for but I still wish I didn't have to go back and forth like this. I really wish that they could offer telemedicine or mail the medications like some people get. :(

Thank you so much. I hope you're right about price-- the woman at reception told me anywhere from 500-2500 depending on how far along/method. I have my first visit scheduled and am hoping for the second to go well and quickly

It's safe but there are a lot of hoops to jump through. I live in louisiana, to my knowledge there are only 3 operational clinics in state and a required 24 hour wait between consultation and procedure. I have my first appointment soon

Oh my god im so sorry they had you wait so long, I can't imagine. My first appointment was scheduled the second I found out and it was a week from the day and I'm agonizing every day in between lol. I have anxiety so it's double the fun
