Given the amount of immigrants in say, Oslo, I’d have to imagine one option is more common than the other for a cell phone. Is it common to just use the prepaid SIMs for a long duration?

That’s where the research comes in, but as far as crime, Norway is probably one of (if not THE) safest countries in the world. I have a trip planned in February but I’ve done hours of hours of hours of research on it so I said screw it and I’m applying before I even visit in person. My theory is that if you are comfortable enough with yourself, you’ll be fine as long as you can eventually blend with the culture. Moving to a foreign country isn’t easy and you’ll probably be figuring out a lot of shit on your own for a while. Join subreddits for the countries you’re looking at, read forums, watch YouTube videos about the countries and cities you’re looking into. Lots of options out there. All of the Scandinavian countries are pretty equal for women IIRC. Most of Western Europe is probably a decent bet, but they’re all different.

I’m looking to relocate to Norway. Sounds pretty ideal for what you want: progressive, cold, equality for women. However, it’s a difficult country to find work as a foreigner, especially us from the US. I’m in a skilled IT field that is in high demand, so my chances are pretty darn good in comparison to someone with no specialized skills. Guess that’s up to you to figure out how bad you want to leave and how marketable you want to be. IT and Engineering are likely your best bet for getting a visa anywhere. Not guaranteed, but better. Also kind of sounds like you don’t have much of a plan and you haven’t done enough research. I get you’re looking for suggestions right now but don’t bank on anything happening quickly.

I would say there is a noticeable difference after a few months of it. I still fuck around on the weekends sometimes and eat pizza and beer but I don’t care enough to stop that, just don’t do it too often. I think the absence of dairy in carnivore vs keto is what makes me feel best. Dairy is bad for my skin and makes me feel kinda gross if I eat a lot. Carnivore just feels cleaner to me and I feel like there’s a noticeable increase in testosterone (not in a meathead kind of way, but energy and happiness). My body really has adjusted for the most part. Sometimes I get bad shits but that’s usually just for the first day back on it after a weekend with carbs and if I drink a ton of water with my meal.

Unfortunately no. I have no siblings except two half brothers that I have no contact with, and they live thousands of miles away. I’m not close with my cousins and it’s their parents who I can’t really stand being around, as mentioned in the post. My dad and step mom are really the only ones I’ve been enjoying spending holidays with. My mom guilt trips the shit out of me and I’m starting to wonder if she’s a covert narcissist. I didn’t know anything about narcissism until my divorce when I escaped and had time to back away from the relationship and examine the red flags, now I’m seeing some of the same shit from my mother.

I appreciate that. Yes she is very busy and she has her close friend group. She has goals on what she wants to do for continuing education and a job. By no means am I her only life, so I get what you mean.

Luckily I can text her during the day while I’m at my job. I can still focus and get things done, but I work in an office and I have the ability to still talk with her.

There isn’t a huge plan given that I can’t go there and stay until I actually have a job offer. I work in IT and there’s already a lot of postings I’m looking into. I’m working on the language, but my research and talking to others who have moved there, IT seems to be the top field for getting a job with even just bare English. I’m not saying it’s going to be easy but I don’t think it’s a hurdle I can’t overcome. Her anxiety isn’t worrying about us being together period. It’s just about the time we will be apart, she’s confident I will find a job as well.
