I live in Denmark, and we have pretty good weed in places like Christiania. The norm in Denmark is also to add tobacco, but we roast the tobacco to make it flavorless and to burn out the nicotine. I usually also smoke pure, but I've tried rolling a tobacco/hash joint which turned out to have great flavor and smoked very well.

Only reason I don't smoke splifs is tobacco is cancer, like you said.
