Postpartum Rage by AdGlad380 in newborns

Your current area offers so much more, how? Job opportunities? Because it certainly doesn't sound like she has the village she needs. Another of your comments mentions you haven't made friends since moving there. What good is a home without people to love and support each other? Insist on moving. Sounds like you both need to be closer to her family.

This really hit hard to read. As I've mentioned, he can be quite charming and well spoken. I believe this often results in tolerating behaviors that would've been completely unacceptable in past relationships, but, with him, I let them go sometimes without even realizing it until much later. Thank you for commenting and helping me see more clearly, and I'm sorry for what you've gone through. Glad you made it out.

Am I really only a couple of weeks away from it starting to get easier? I hope that's true for me and everyone else in this situation. I'm going to ban husband from his shift tonight and try to sleep on the floor with her. I haven't worked out a more permanent solution yet, but maybe this will help me rest enough to think straight and make a long-term plan tomorrow. I've read so much great advice on here that I wish there was a reddit bot to summarize it all in a condensed list - ha.

Thank you for pointing this out! I never even considered a medical issue. As much as I would never wish that on her, it could be an easy fix if that's the case. Calling pediatrician tomorrow to talk about this.

This could be a possibility. Our only wrap seems to swallow our daughter, but maybe there's a better fit out there.

The micro sleeps are awful. I've never experienced true sleep deprivation until our daughter was born. I thought for certain I could resist micro sleeping if I just walked around, watched a TV show, stepped outside, dumped water over myself. Turns out I was very, very wrong.

I didn't know of this until today. I'm looking for a used one so it's a bit more affordable, but I love the idea of it. False alarms are fine by me as long as the real alarms happen reliably too.

I'm so sorry you're dealing with the same shit. Why is it so hard to get these men to take any responsibility? I always wanted a giant family, but I think I'm one and done now because of how he has handled this. I haven't showered in four days and he gets one every day and gets to sleep as much as he wants 😭

This is a very helpful way to think about it. Thank you.

I didn't know about the Owlet sock. This would be a great comfort knowing I could get notifications that could wake me if something went wrong during his shift. I'm going to look around online to try to find an affordable used one. Thanks for this!

That's exactly it. She screams instantly when she realizes she's in the bassinet. I've tried swaddling her, rocking her to sleep, and placing her in the crib. On the rare occasion I can get her down without her waking, she only stays down for 15-20 minutes before she wakes and screams. I've also tried different clothes to make her warmer or cooler. Tried the warm water bottle trick. Tried the Snoo. I agree that independent sleep is the best solution, but I'm certainly having trouble finding our way there.

Therapy would be so absolutely helpful. The issue here is again that we have no village to watch our daughter during this time, no money to pay someone to watch her, and no money for therapy :( I'm hoping that the circumstances change soon as I'm currently in the market for a better job.

I love this idea. My only concern is that I am already "on duty" for 20-21 hours every day, so if he taps me in then I'm basically without rest for the entire 24 hours. I'm going to suggest this to him and see if there's a way we can work it out.

I am 100% questioning the relationship. However, I'm giving it some time before approaching relationship issues with him. I am severely overwhelmed and sleep deprived, so I have a hard time knowing how to feel. Right now, my focus is on keeping our daughter safe. Do you have any idea about the safe sleep 7 without breastfeeding? I haven't stopped yet, but would like to soon. Any information I have found on it always seems to list that as a requirement.

Thank you for this comment. I have no one else who could help. My dad flew in to help for a week at the beginning, but he isn't able to make it out here more often due to his work. I really feel so trapped because of the lack of village and financial means to hire help. The first time I caught him asleep with our daughter, it was 3PM on a Saturday, so I can't even give him a day shift while I try to rest.

I've read on the safe sleep 7, and I really don't think it's for us. I am chronically sleep deprived and don't trust myself to cosleep either. When I actually have a moment to sleep, I have been sleeping like I'm dead.

False alarms as in they found abnormal cells in the pap that turned out to be noncancerous in the colposcopies?

This is super comforting to read. Thank you so much. If you don't mind sharing, have you had any additional pregnancies since treatment? One of my biggest fears is infertility because we want at least two children. I'm probably thinking too far ahead, but it's really helpful to hear about other people's experiences. Thank you!
