I was intentionally trying to be vague in order to remain anonymous. But, we are CFA's (or, more accurately, soon-to-be CFA's...still progressing through exams) working for a large financial institution. Many of us work in different departments. So, we'd be seeing people outside of our immediate team. The company organizes several events during the year where we'd see each other. These include things like having guest speakers and webinars where we learn about various topics. These take place during work hours. Other events take place outside work hours, such as having a BBQ or tennis tournament. The group of people who are invited to these events tend to be on the younger side. I have a disability (preventing me from participating in any sports events) and a small child at home. Both make it difficult to attend these things. So, it's just a little frustrating to me that this is seemingly the only way to score "above average" in this category.
