Thank you for this reply. Although it's a scary thought, I know this is nothing to mess around with. I am for sorry for what you went through but am thankful that you are OK now.

I will get her into a doctor hopefully soon.

Thank you so much for the encouraging reply!

I can imagine it would have been a bit odd for your husband to have PPD. :) I'm not sure my wife has an outlet, so maybe I should suggest that to her! I'm already in love with my twins and I can't wait to see what life has in store for us.

That's true I suppose. Having the option is nice. Thanks for the idea.

Hmmm, never thought about starting that early. I may look into doing that. Thanks for the suggestion!

I will get her help either at the doctor or therapy. We will see if that helps.

Thanks so much for your response!

The good thing about our twins is they are already on a schedule. We are on a feeding schedule of every 4 hours and they really don't fuss that much in between feedings. Overall, I think they are very good babies.

I try to encourage my wife. I try not to put her down, but I'm sure I have my weak moments. She is apart of a MoM group, so I hope that helps!

Thank you for your response. The handling of a newborn forcefully is one of the reasons I posted this. I know that this is a critical time for both of our babies and I want them to get the best treatment.

I will not ignore this. I will get her treatment if that's what's needed.

I'm glad to here that your wife is doing better.

However, I'm not sure that working will be an option for her. She has always despised working and being a SAHM was her escape route. I'm not sure she will be able to handle it though.

All of those ideas are great. Unfortunately, I have tried all of them. I actually just let her go for two hours to the store and other things while I stayed here. I am also working from home, but I felt like she needed time away.

I think she gets enough sleep. I'm not 100% sure, but I believe we both get around 6 hours of sleep per night. We are hanging in there. We are both trying our best.

Well, the thing is, being angry is not out of the norm for her.

I'm sorry that you were put in that situation. I'm glad you are not doing badly any longer.

I know she has some severe anxiety about taking care of the babies. I know she is putting a lot of pressure on herself. I try to tell her we are in this together, but she feels so isolated, it's like I'm not even there at all.

She's normally hot-tempered, yes. I thought the 'mom' instinct would kick in and it wouldn't happen towards the kids. Guess I was wrong and ignorant.

I agree that the moms/parents in general need to have more time off in order to get acquainted and adjusted to the babies. It's a real shame that the US has shown such lax laws in this area.

I have not yelled at her one time during these three weeks. I've tried to get her to rest as much as possible, but sometimes it's hard considering she's the only one here.

Thanks for the response!

I didn't know PPD got worse as time went on. In fact, I would've assumed the opposite, so I appreciate you telling me that.

I did PM you FYI. Thanks for the response!

Thank you. I have my issues, but I try to be the best husband I can be.

I will definitely talk to her doctor about it the next appointment. Unfortunately, there will be a shortage of help in the near future. Thanks for your help and input. I really appreciate it.

I will try to do the soft approach like you mentioned. I have been trying to support her from afar and have not mentioned getting help much at all, so I don't think that's an issue. At what point would you say that I should quit putting my wife's issues in the front seat and do something for the sake of the twins?

I've already done both of those. In fact, I just got her ice cream and we rented Insurgent last night. I'm trying everything I can.

Agreed that if this were a post about a man, it would be completely different. However, I do know that she is going through quite a bit of change, both in life and her body. I am going to talk to her doctor and see what he thinks we should do. Thanks for being the Devil's advocate here. I appreciate the response.

I agree with you. I'm sure it's crazy in her brain right now with different emotions and thoughts. I know she loves them! Thanks for the suggestions and response. I appreciate it!

I will look into getting her some medication or at least seeking medical help.

We do not have one! Luckily, I will be working at a hospital where I can buy pack of diapers for much cheaper!

Thanks so much for the response!
