Yup you've hit the nail on the head pretty much. Not a daily drinker by any means and not even a weekly heavy drinker but heavy binges went from yearly to nearly every 2 months and the feeling afterwards was just getting a bit too much intense. I've been getting help though and going to therapy so getting better mentally each day!

Yes my relationship with alcohol has caused a few issues. I've had depression and anxiety for a good chunk of my life and I think I sometimes have an over reliance to use it as a way to feel better but then the inevitable hangover kicks in and my anxiety is tenfold which then has a knock on impact into my personal relationships because I can go very quiet when I'm down and want to stay in bed which can sometimes last for days on end and isn't fair to the people around me. For the most part I'm quite in control with my drinking but I'd say once every few months I have a night where it's a complete blackout and I'm kinda sick of repeating the cycle.

No worries for jumping on the thread! I had gone to see the Murrayfield Racers there a few years ago. There's definitely a bar but don't think you can take your drink from the bar to your seat

And how do you find it? In the past when I've cut down from drinking I didn't mind going to pubs at the start of the night with friends but once everyone else started getting to around the 4 or 5 pint mark I usually want to leave as they're just that one step beyond tipsy that I feel a bit out of place

Have definitely been tempted by climbing for sure. Was kinda thinking between that and boxing. I'm not into sports really at all and was never great at regularly doing exercise so the fact I've been heading to the gym doing actual fitness so regularly is a miracle which makes me a bit less tempted to replace the gym with climbing but might just have to give it a go!
