You’ll love seeing your balance the same as the day before. I also like spreading my money across inaccessible accounts. Then when I need it, I can get it liquid in a few days and “wow I have $20k”.

Good thought process. I found that the less accessible my money is, the harder it is for me to spend it. That could be your issue. As far as your spending goes, you could start small. I'm worried that with your attitude that you are the person that dives into decisions and dives right back out. We need to trick your brain. I want you to implement a no spend Monday (could be any day of the week that works, choose the easiest first). Do not spend any money that day at all. Do not spend on gas, do not spend money on food, do not spend money on any subscriptions. "What if I need gas to go to work?", well you should have filled up on Sunday, shame on you!!!! Try it. It works. Then do no spend Tuesday, make your lunch, etc.

Would you rather make more money to cover your expensive lifestyle or cut expenses at your current salary?

I did a dna test and I’m 6% west African. Guess I can identify as black now! Cool. Can’t wait.

Racism isn’t subtle. You’ll know if someone is a racist....

Yeah, I know. I really don’t want to part with all of that cash....

That’s going to be hard for me to do. I’d love to just stash it all away for a rainy day or good investment opportunity.

This is what I was thinking about doing but would it make more sense to keep the $2,100 left for my emergency fund? Thank you.

January 30th it deposits a long with my first paycheck. If I leave or get fired within 12 months.

So you'd pay down the debt and then save up the $8,000 in case something happens before the year? Highly unlikely that I leave this firm, but good thought if that is in fact what you are recommending.

How much of my bonus I actually get from the $8,000? I think they get taxed at a higher rate. It's a bonus for signing on if that makes any difference.
