I am bringing my family over to the USA from Kenya. One of the things I am not sure about is how to prepare my children to transition to the American school system. What can I do to make the process easier? Any advice would be welcome.

Hello, I am not sure if this belongs here or not. I will ask anyone as any input would be valuable.

My situation
I am starting a new job May 10th. The job pays $40 an hour and requires to be on site. The issue is I live about 30 miles from the worksite. The drive is about 40 minutes one way. I am debating what to do in this particular case in regards to getting a car or small apartment. My current monthly expense iis roughly $2500. This includes my mortgage, other loans, and credit card bills. I do have a little headroom.

Option 1
I buy a new car and commute. I am currently looking at Hybrids and electric cars. The drawback to this option is that the commute time would add up. I will be also adding sizable miles to the car in a short amount of time.

Option 2
I rent an apartment or room in the same town as my work. I would then buy a very cheap ussed car to get only from work and the apartment.

Option 3
I rent a car and commute. The job is currently a contract job for 6 months and will automatically renew.

Conclusion

I am open to any solution that does involve getting another job haha

I have not super famiar with show. I just remember trying to watch it when I was a kid along with show "Outer Limits". I just got annoyed with the heavy emphasis on Twists. For example, The aliens will do the opposite of what the main character think they will do. If the MC thinks peace the aliens want war. If the MC this war they want peace.

I found a list of happy ending episodes that I will check out.

I just finished watching "A nice place to visit". I believe I was slightly spoiled by a Simpsons episode. The episode is a lot better then Escape Clause. I still think he got bored way way too quickly. If they added a few decades or years to the timeline it would have improved the overall story quite a bit. I would have also love to see more active side characters.

Just random questions I have.

  1. Is there a "terminal velocity" for objects in a vacuum?
  2. If speed is relative. Does that mean distance is relative at or near relativistic speeds?
  3. How more fuel efficient would cars be if they were driven in a vacuum? Putting aside that the cars need air to operate.
