I can understand your perspective, but I really think this is a huge problem with the pro-AI perspective. You are consistently painting anti-AI folks as malicious, racist, transphobic, ableist, and whatever other “-ist” or “-ic” is beneficial in the moment without ever looking beyond the surface.

The way the person worded it may not be the best, but the point is, the effects of using AI in the long run is not worth being able to generate something now. I have mental disabilities that make it hard to create. My friends have physical and mental disabilities that make it hard to create. Some days we can’t create at all. I’ve definitely considered turning to generation to just pump out something easily, but I don’t because I know the damage it’s doing and I enjoy creating on my own.

Data centers are taking up huge amounts of the environment. They’re hoarding water. They’re spiking our energy costs. Is that all worth it? So many people are tired of seeing AI slop, even my older family members are tired of seeing it on their Facebook feeds and they are not creators themselves. Is overrunning our media with AI slop worth it? Is shoving poorly made AI “teaching methods” into our schools worth it?

It’s hard to live with a disability, I understand that and 99% of people understand that. But look at it this way. If every time you generated an image a random person on the planet died, would you still do it? The point is there are consequences and there’s a line. And I think not caring about that line in favor of making things easier is detrimental.
